This is your opportunity to join the Missile Defense Radar Software Leadership Team in Woburn, Massachusetts as a Scrum Master on the AN/TPY-2 Radar Team .
The Missile Defense Radar Software Departments mission is to provide world class Missile Defense and Surveillance Radar Software for radar systems deployed on land and sea. Our software teams employ Agile and DevOps methods for rapid and continuous deployment of capabilities for our customers. We strive for technical excellence by drawing upon a diverse workforce whose knowledge base covers the complete spectrum of modern computing languages and platforms.
Raytheon is seeking a Scrum Master to help manage and guide the agile Scrum teams from development to deployment of functional capabilities to fulfill Customers requirements from the product backlog. The Scrum Master will operate as the servant leader for the agile Scrum teams to ensure clear and transparent communication and removing impediments to help the teams success in meeting its goals and objectives. The Scrum Master will have a thorough understanding of scaled agile frameworks (e.g. SAFe) and will be able to operate within the appropriate agile methodology (Scrum/Kanban/Scrumban) to facilitate the agile teams activities.
Responsibilities:

Exhibit Agile Leadership Help the team embrace agile values, adopt and apply agile principles and implement agile practices. Personify Agile and Scrum; serve the team, including the Product Owner (PO), in their customer-focused mission to deliver continuous value.
Facilitate Progress toward Team Goals Help the team align and focus on Sprint and Program Iteration (PI) Goals. Foster continuous improvement of performance in the areas of quality, predictability, flow and velocity.
Remove Impediments Directly remove or guide the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel, including outside the team
Lead Team Efforts in Relentless Improvement Assess the Scrum maturity of the team (includes PO) and coach them to higher levels of maturity. Help the team improve and take responsibility for their actions. Teach problem-solving techniques.
Support Team Rules Reinforce lightweight agile team rules including rules of Scrum, Built-In Quality, Work In Process (WIP) limits and other process rules the team agreed upon
Support the Product Owner Help the Product Owner in their efforts to manage the product backlog and roadmap. Help the PO guide the team while facilitating a healthy team dynamic with respect to scope, priorities and product quality.
Facilitation Facilitate (not lead) team meetings, including (where applicable) the Daily Standup, Sprint/Increment Planning, Demo/Reviews and Retrospectives

This position can be a Salary Grade G08 or Salary Grade G09 based on the candidate's qualifications relative to the skills, experience and requirements of the position.

Required Skills:


Minimum 4 years of experience in software engineering

Agile development experience
Experience with C, C++, Ada, or Java
Experience working on software development teams; both with Software Development Life Cycle and Agile Frameworks
U.S. Citizenship is required.

Desired Skills:

Scrum Master Certification (CSM)
Six Sigma Expert
Team Leadership experience
Proficiency in agile management tools such as Rational Team Concert and Jira
Understanding of DevOps Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery
Knowledge and/or experience with other agile techniques: Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Automated Testing, ATDD, TDD, Pairing, Swarming
Experience using software configuration management and bug tracking tools
Software development experience in a DoD environment
Radar domain knowledge
Earned Value Reporting and metrics experience
Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
Experience working with various audiences, both technical and non-technical

Required Education:
BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math or related engineering/science discipline.
Desired Education:
Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Software Engineering
