Job Description:

  • Develop mission architecture requirements from customer specifications, specifically focused on decomposing mission requirements into payload, spacecraft, and ground elements.
  • Develop spacecraft procurement documents, such as Requests for Information (RFI) / Proposal (RFP).
  • Participate in spacecraft source selection decisions.
  • Interface with spacecraft providers on platform capabilities and trades.
  • Oversee a supplier’s spacecraft level technical baseline, allocations, and margins.
  • Perform architecture trade studies for spacecraft design, command and control and mission data processing.
  • Perform verification and validation flow for key system level requirements.
  • Support space vehicle integration & test (I&T) planning and requirements verification, including leading anomaly investigations.


    • Master’s degree in Engineering or related STEM field.
    • 10 years’ experience in spacecraft design, integration, test and/or operations.
    • Experienced in Systems Engineering and mission assurance fundamentals. 

      Preferred Additional Skills:

      • Eligibility to obtain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance.
      • Experience with EO sensor performance, optics and/or modeling & simulation using remote sensing techniques.
      • Strong problem-solving skills with data driven decision-making that balances technical, risk, cost, and schedule.
      • Good facilitator and able to lead resolution of issues with focus on mission success.
      • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex design information, technical decisions and issues to both highly technical and non-technical reviewers.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members, leadership, and customers.
      • Recognized as an authority in systems thinking techniques with the demonstrated ability to apply them to a wide range of complex problems and train others in their application.
      • INCOSE Certification.
      • Willingness to travel.
