    Education Qualifications:  High school diploma or equivalent required.

    Experience Qualifications:  Experience in an office or clerical environment preferred.

    Skills Qualifications:  Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with the public, students, and staff; demonstrated skills in oral and written communication; ability to follow oral and written instructions quickly and accurately; strong clerical skills including typing and filing; knowledge of basic bookkeeping skills; ability to analyze existing processes and identify areas for improvement; ability to act as a representative of Gwinnett County Public Schools; ability to work across functional boundaries and interact with employees at all levels of the organization; and ability to demonstrate technology skills.

    Primary Responsibilities:  Provide general clerical support and, when needed, function as the receptionist and/or registrar for the local school by performing general financial and accounting duties as assigned.

    1.        Perform generalclerical duties for the local school.
    a.         Prepare and transcribe various reports,forms, memos, and letters.
    b.         Prepare work orders, purchase orders, and/oritem orders of varying types from oral and written requests from supervisor.
    c.         Organize and maintain files including, butnot limited to, interdepartmental correspondence, school correspondence,student enrollment, and confidential materials.
    d.         Route incoming and outgoing correspondenceand materials accurately and quickly.
    e.         Utilize telecommunication equipment courteouslyand efficiently.
    f.           Process information requests accuratelyand quickly as assigned.
    g.         Operate and maintain, or refer for maintenance,routine office machinery.
    h.         Process student enrollment or withdrawaland student personnel files in accordance with school system proceduresas assigned.
    i.          Maintain student personnel recordsin accordance with school system procedures as assigned.
    j.          Assist with switchboard functionsas needed.



    2.        Maintain and communicate a general workingknowledge of local school and school system public information, policies,procedures, and events with internal and external customers



    3.         Communicate with all parties in a businesslike,courteous, and efficient manner.
    a.        Represent the division professionally inall aspects of communication.
    b.        Help cultivate a responsive and customer-centeredclimate.
    c.        Seek ways to be responsive to the needs ofstaff.
    d.        Handle internal and external customers graciouslyand effectively.
    e.        Direct inquires to the appropriate divisionpersonnel as needed.
    f.          Route incoming and outgoing correspondenceaccurately.



    4.        Assist with new projects in the local school.



    5.        Perform other duties as assigned.


    Physical Demands:
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. Employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to touch, handle, feel, and/or reach. Employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
