Key Areas of Responsibility and Tasks

  • Manage and lead a team of Linux and Windows Sysadmins in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines while multitasking across several customer accounts and projects
  • Manage a team responsible for 24x7 operational support of Cloud based Servers and assuring the quality of releases and assisting internal teams and customers with product related issues
  • Actively develop a growing team of 10+ employees and contractors by providing day-to-day guidance, feedback, and on-the-job coaching
  • Advise stakeholders and translate business requirements into secure, scalable, and resilient solutions
  • Assist in the planning of future phases and support of customer deployments and environments
  • Provide guidance as a subject matter expert deploying secure, scalable and fault tolerant solutions using industry and SAP best practices
  • Lead hands-on engineering, system administration and technical support on AWS, Azure, and GCP

Essential Skills, Characteristics, & Experience

  • 2+ years of experience managing direct reports in a technical operations team of 7 or more
  • Security+ Certification or ability to obtain within six months of start
  • Current Linux LPIC-1 certification (RHCE or SCE preferred) or ability to obtain within six months of start
  • 10+ years current hands-on Linux Administration experience supporting production environments
  • Multi-platform experience with both Linux & Windows
  • Expert in Linux/Unix troubleshooting and log file forensics
  • Expert with Shell Scripting (Bash, Korn, or C)
  • Expert writing Linux administration automation scripts using Python
  • Experience with Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or other server/configuration Linux management tool
  • Experience with Linux Virtualization, AWS or Azure Cloud preferred
  • Able to debug and resolve complex issues in cloud environments
  • Demonstrable experience in Enterprise-level environments
  • Self-motivated and able to work under pressure to deliver high-quality deliverables
  • AWS/Azure/GCP certifications, infrastructure related preferred
  • Experience configuring Tripwire or Advanced Intrusion Detection Environment (AIDE)
  • Experience applying DISA STIGs and running SCAP checks (preferred)


Languages:

Good oral and written communication skills in English

Education

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related equivalent experience
