As a Sales Development Representative, you will work directly with our leadership team across several departments as a critical function within our fast growing sales organization. Sitting at the top of our sales funnel, you will be interacting with restaurant owners to understand their needs, the competitive landscape and key stakeholders. Often as the first point of contact for potential customers, you will also be tasked with making a great first impression on restaurant owners and clearly articulating the value proposition of Yelp Reservations and Yelp Waitlist.

Based on performance, this role is a launching point into several different career paths within the Yelp Restaurants organization. As an SDR, you will be exposed to departments such as sales, marketing, product, and business analytics. Where You'll Come In:

  • Researching the restaurant industry, identifying key stakeholders and establishing a fit for a Yelp Restaurants product
  • Initiating first point of contact with potential Yelp Restaurant partners
  • Vetting out the hottest and newest restaurants in our top markets
  • Analyzing data to optimize sales efficiency
  • Coordinating closely with the sales organization to create opportunities for the sales team, including setting appointments with key decision makers

  • You have an appetite for learning!  Youre keen on turning training and feedback into action and continuous self-improvement
  • You are committed to a high standard of integrity and work ethic
  • You are an effective communicator through verbal, written, and face-to-face interactions
  • You have a strong attention to detail, and are able to listen with the intention of relying important information across several business units
  • You are genuinely curious about people, local restaurants, and are passionate about the growth of the restaurant industry
  • You are adaptable and can think on your feet. When faced with new challenges, or tough conversations, failure simply isn't an option


  • Bachelors degree or 1-2 successful years in sales experience within the restaurant industry
  • Experience with restaurant technology (reservation systems, waitlist systems, front-of-house mgmt tools) is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills both in person and over the phone
  • Computer and email proficiency
  • Salesforce or similar CRM knowledge is a plus
  • Positive attitude and a drive to win
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time within a fast-paced environment

Training and Development
