Sales Development Representative Lead Generation
Position Summary:
The Sales Development Representative (SDR) will generate interest in Valassis and assist prospects in understanding the value proposition of utilizing our product portfolio. While the SDR is an entry-level sales position, it is a critical component of the Valassis sales engine and offers a rewarding career with potential for advancement. As such, SDRs have the opportunity to be closely mentored and professionally developed by seasoned enterprise sales professionals.
This is a high volume outbound center focused on business to business demand generation by qualifying leads and establishing appointments for our account and sales executives.  It requires a great deal of effective phone etiquette with a natural ability to quickly foster a rapport with the prospect.
Key Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Prospecting for new clients via both phone calls and emails at high volume with an eye toward exceeding expectations
  • Proactively seeking out new potential client accounts and making first contact with those accounts to generate interest
  • Generate qualified leads through outbound telephone prospecting, social media, email and other means
  • Engage with prospects via telephone, email and social media
  • Overcome prospect objections  
  • Conduct a needs analysis and determine prospects pain points to determine how to speak to those needs
  • Update prospect interactions and statuses in Salesforce.com to ensure efficient lead management
  • Scheduling prospects for meetings with our sales team
  • Working with Account & Sales Executives to ensure qualified leads convert into paid clients by facilitating a smooth transition from initial call to scheduled appointment
  • Meet revenue targets and achieve quarterly quotas 

Education & Experience:
  • 1 to 2 years experience in insides sales or service within a reputable call center / contact center
  • College degree or applicable job experience
  • Knowledge of Salesforce.com is preferred
