Job Responsibilities

  • Anticipating, identify evaluate hazardous conditions and practices. Research, read, understand, and interpret both regulatory and voluntary standards, codes, and laws for client. Conducts research of potential safety and security risks.

  • Reviewing engineering plans and specifications for system safety elements and fixed facilities. Formulate recommendations to client including engineering and administrative controls to design out hazards or reduce risk to acceptable levels.

  • Supporting the Senior Manager Startup and Integrated Testing under direction of the Director of Systems Safety and Certification. This involves testing, operation of new construction and/or the existing system during integration testing and quality assurance that the system is constructed and designed to operate safely and in accordance with DART's standards and specifications.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Due to nature of work, US citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with rail transit industry and understands all aspects of the Rail transit safety and security certification program activities and how these activities apply in the execution of a Safety and Security Certification Program

  • Experience in reviewing DART System Safety requirements related to the specification, design, procurement, construction, manufacturing and testing of rail equipment, facilities and systems

  • Ready and available to work at the DFW area in order to complete on-site assessments
