OVERVIEW:  The Regional Sales Manager California will promote sales of Handicare/Savaria Stairlifts, Patient Handling Products, Vertical Platform Lifts and Inclined Platform Lifts to dealers within the assigned region.  The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) will train its business partners to sell these products and assist with on-site training as required. Regional Sales Managers will be responsible to work with Handicare staff to ensure deliverables resulting in quality and timely outcomes for our clients and increased revenue.  Further, the RSM will seek out opportunities to cross sell the Savaria range of Elevating products in the region working in conjunction with the Elevating and Commercial Access counterpart.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Develops and implements strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.

  • Reviews market analysis to determine customer needs, price schedules and discount rates.

  • Train business partners to sell Handicare products range with product knowledge, sales techniques, surveying and pricing.

  • Evaluate market conditions and determine plan to maximize coverage throughout the region to achieve market share goals.

  • Represent Handicare at industry exhibitions and conferences.

  • Meet or exceed annual goals and objectives.

  • Deliver technical training and advice to business partners on our product range.  Technical background must be sufficient to effectively train on installation and maintenance of equipment.

  • Delivers sales presentations to key clients and/or referral sources in conjunction with dealers.

  • Be prepared to travel to any site where sales or training needs to occur.

  • Manage personal schedule to work efficiently and to meet target requirements as defined by Sales Director.

  • Prepares periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales and areas of proposed dealer expansion.

  • Communicate with customers to assess customer satisfaction level with services and products.

  • Provide recommendations for procedural and product improvements.

  • Interacts with various departments within organization to answer customer concerns.

  • May be required to follow up on daily tasks such as drawings, dealer quotations, parts deliveries, overdue accounts and answer other dealer related questions.

  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes.

  • Any other duties as assigned by Management.



 
 


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

  • Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Must exhibit excellent customer service skills




  • Technical background sufficient to develop a deep understanding of all products

  • Valid Drivers License



LANGUAGE SKILLS:



  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, financial reports or government regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from group of managers, clients, customers and the general public.



EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:



  • 5 + years of experience in technical sales and experience with stairlifts or elevating products is a plus.



CERTIFICATES, LICENSES OR REGISTRATIONS:



  • None required.



COMPUTER SKILLS:



  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required. 



PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  


The employee may occasionally stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch during shift.  Employee will be required to regularly sit, use hand to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms.  Employee must be able to occasionally lift, push, pull and or move up to 25 lbs.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:



  • This position works in an environment with moderate noise levels.



TRAVEL:



  • This position travels up to 25% in your local market, 25% in California and 50% work from home on account management
