Job Summary
Assists in providing a variety of culturally relevant, bi-lingual, non-professional auxiliary services for children and families in support of case related goals.

Job Qualifications
Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification
- Associate's degree in human services or related field. Bachelor's degree in social work, human services or related field preferred.
Experience
- One year experience in child welfare or refugee resettlement program preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Willingness and ability to demonstrate compassion, non-judgmental attitude, and empathy towards persons served.
- Ability to maintain a helping role; intervenes when appropriate.
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished orally or in writing.
- Ability to effectively resolve problems involving routine but, involved situations.
- Ability to work constructively with staff, clients, and representatives from agencies.
- Ability to read, speak and write English; communicates effectively, both orally and in writing. Bilingual in language of persons served preferred; able to translate in both written and verbal forms.
- Legible handwriting; ability to write simple and complex sentences with proper use of grammar and word order.
- Reads, understands and interprets case record information necessary for contract, licensing, FIA and court compliance.
- Ability to add, subtract and multiply.
- Ability to utilize basic computerized software applications.
Additional Work Requirements
- Valid unrestricted driver's license with good driving record with reliable transportation suitable to transport person served. Proof of current automobile registration and insurance.
- Extended hours may be required.
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Near and far acuity.
- Ability to lift and carry small children up to 100 pounds.
- High level of concentration over extended periods.
