This position manages the transfer of Radiology images and reports for all modalities to and from other medical facilities, patients, attorneys, and other professional services adhering to all Federal and State release of information regulations including HIPAA (Federal) and the Washington State Health Information Act, as well as the guidelines dictated by VMMC policy. This position accurately manages VM's Radiology health information; storing, retaining, and retrieving images in film, compact disc, and digital format ensuring that Clinicians and Radiologist have the requested information on hand to assist in patient care. This position also organizes images for conferences and ensures the timely billing of Radiology services.\n

Qualifications:

    \n
  • This position requires the knowledge and understanding of the release of information regulations as directed by the Federal and State regulations, HIPAA (Federal), Washington State Health Information Act, and guidelines dictated by VMMC policy. \n
  • A High School diploma or equivalency is also required. \n
  • Additional requirements include having two years experience with medical release of information plus 2-4 years of Radiology experience.\n
  • Excellent computer skills.\n
  • Medical terminology with education in human anatomy and physiology.\n
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.\n
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of CPT codes and ICD9 codes. \n

    Preferred: An Associate's degree is preferred. \n
