POSITION SUMMARY:

Manages the day to day operations of the PMRF Radar and Telemetry Departments in a safe, efficient and high-quality manner.  Ensures all telemetry and radar systems are properly manned and functioning nominally to meet mission objectives.  Ensures quality data products that meet all mission requirements.

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:

  • Monitors and reviews personnel performance and works with the Range Systems Manager on employee performance reviews, coaching, and performance improvement objectives.
  • Approves technician operational and maintenance schedules provided by the instrumentation engineer scheduler and clerk for adar and telemetry. Works with the scheduling team to de-conflict competing resource requirements to meet mission objectives.
  • Works occasional odd shifts to support range operations occurring outside of the normal workday.
  • Interfaces and coordinates with government counterparts and other Manu Kai, LLC elements to assure mutual awareness of status and direction.
  • Coordinates with Security and Safety departments to ensure associated policies and practices are up to date and fully implemented
  • Provides cradle to grave systems engineering oversight and technical guidance for any telemetry or radar engineering modifications or new installation activities.  Ensures technicians receive adequate training to reliably operate and maintain said engineering modifications or new equipment installations
  • Assists the Depot Level Maintenance (DLM) Coordinator on the planning, scheduling and monitoring of DLM of radar and telemetry systems.
  • Approves timecards, leave requests, and travel requests of technicians.
  • Directs the development, revision, and updating of operation and maintenance procedures for the Makaha Ridge radar and telemetry systems.
  • Provides technical expertise at management meetings, planning, and scheduling meetings and conferences as required.
  • Ensures day-to-day compliance with company’s policies and procedures.
  • Ensures a safe work environment and employees are properly trained
  • Prepares and submits status reports and technical reports and briefs, as required, to Senior Management and Customers in timely manner.
  • Reviews and approves radar and telemetry related Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs) provided by the site clerk.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

    Physical Activities:

    • Must able to lift, carry, install and remove networking systems and peripherals. 
    • Must able to work in sub-floor areas and crawl space in performing maintenance inspections, installation and troubleshooting tasks.

      PHYSICAL ELEMENTS:

      • Must be able to lift, push or pull of 25-50 lbs. Positions include walking, standing, crawling, kneeling or cramped, work requiring repeated stooping, sitting and work requiring repeated or frequent stair climbing.
      • Environmental: Customer Contact, Extended Workday, Confined Work Area, Office Laboratory, Field Assignment and Inclement weather.

        Minimum Qualifications:


        Education:

        • Bachelor’s Degree
        • Master’s Degree is preferred

          Experience:

          • Five to ten years of experience in management or supervision of operations and maintenance of electronic and/or electro/mechanical systems or related field.
          • Systems engineering experience is desired.
          • Supervision experience with bargaining unit employees a plus.
          • Must possess the following PC skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint.


            SECURITY CLEARANCE:

            Secret security clearance is required. Applicants selected must be a US Citizen in order to apply for a Secret Security Clearance.  Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment, and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.
