Join the Cedars-Sinai team as a Quantitative Image Analyst!** The Cedars-Sinai Biomedical Imaging Research Institute (BIRI) is an interdisciplinary research program established in 2010 to develop and apply state-of-the-art imaging technologies to todays most pressing translational research and clinical questions. For further information, please visit https://www.cedars-sinai.org/research/departments-institutes/biomedical-imaging.html . BIRI is currently seeking an Image Analyst to join the team. As an Image Analyst, you will be directly supervised by the Imaging Core Director and Program Manager and will interface with Imaging Core investigators to evaluate images and propose solutions to image analysis problems. You will be responsible for setup and maintenance of image databases, batch processing of images, documenting analysis procedure, statistical evaluation of image and data, summarizing results for presentations, and communication with the researchers. **Job Duties and Responsibilities:** _Data Management and Processing_ + Develop process to locate and download relevant images, image raw data and associated information from clinical scanners and the institutional PACS to analysis workstations + Perform image analysis, computations and data archive for image-based assessment of treatment response in patients treated in clinical trials + Reconstruct and co-register image sets as needed + Organize and present images and related data for review by investigators + Extract and process data from image regions of interest (ROIs) defined by Core users + Prepare and present summary case forms and data spreadsheets to assist investigators in assessing and monitoring results of their projects + Develop and perform data archiving SOPs and maintain archive + Some commonly used modalities include Optical, MRI, CT, and PET/MR _Support of Imaging Equipment_ + Assist the Imaging Core in identifying, evaluating, standardizing and cataloging calibration procedures for the scanners used to acquire images + Develop and catalogue standardized QA/QC procedures for all imaging modalities + Quality Control for Image Acquisition + Assist in performing experiments to assess the accuracy and precision of image-based measurements used in evaluating treatment response + Interact with clinical research assistants, research nursing staff and radiology imaging technologists to monitor scan acquisition schedules for patients treated in clinical trials + Ensure that imaging technologists reconstruct and/or otherwise process image sets according to standard protocols and transfer images and corresponding raw data to the institutional PACS, or directly to the analysis workstation + Imaging Methodology + Develop standardized protocols for image acquisition across imaging modalities + Program algorithms used in image analysis + Create customized data bases used to archive information used in image-based assessment of treatment response in clinical therapy trials + Assist in implementing improved methods of quantitative imaging _Software Development_ + Implement programs to supplement the functionality of the existing analysis workstation beyond that provided by the standard applications purchased with the system + Develop and write custom programs to supplement the functionality of the workstation in collaboration with Bioinformatics _IT Support_ + Sound knowledge of programming and documentation procedures, programming methods, program flow charts and operator instructions + Knowledge of WordPress and other Content Management Systems + Develop and publish web content for the imaging core + Experience with web programming and design including, but not limited to: PHP, CSS, HTML + Providing 24/7 access to webPAX server and storage server for staff. + Backing up data from modalities into storage server + Establishing and supporting laboratory wide network as well as granting remote access to users + Creating and managing user groups, user accounts for variety of imaging systems + Participates in requirement analysis and application design meetings + Stays informed of new developments and technologies + Follows protocols and procedures to ensure application security + Serves as primary liaison to functional users of supported systems + Communicates with users to extract and define needs + Serves as technical specialist for software applications; establishes project plans and schedules, identifies resource requirements, and monitors progress providing status reports as required + Works directly with faculty & staff to determine IT needs \#Jobs-Glassdoor #Jobs-NHCN #Jobs-HERC **Educational Requirements:** + Bachelor of Science required + Master of Science or PhD preferred **Experience:** + Previous knowledge and experience working in the field of image analysis and related application programming + Hands-on experience with image file formats (especially DICOM) and image archive/retrieval hardware and procedures + Basic knowledge of the principles of image formation and reconstruction + Familiarity with basic tools (regions of interest, spreadsheet, curve fitting and modeling, graphics) for extraction + Working knowledge of the application software that are implemented on the imaging workstations available within the imaging community + Strong programming skills (C++, Visual Basic, Matlab) + Able to prototype image analysis solutions in a suitable programming environment and test image analysis solutions for stability and scientific soundness **Physical Demands:** + Able to perform moderate lifting + Able to sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods of time + Able to read papers and online documents + Able to operate standard office equipment + Able to exercise physical ability and perspective acuity to satisfactorily perform essential job functions + Able to walk or drive to other sites as necessary + Must be MR safe and able to work in ZONE IV MRI environment Cedars-Sinai is an EEO employer.
