We have an exciting opportunity for a QUALITY MANAGER at our PROVIDENCE, RI location.



Objectives:



  • Manage a team of Quality Specialists and Calibration Technicians in support of our Calibration Laboratory and Precision Measurement Center.  Lead and develop outstanding performers that deliver superior results.

  • Support the continuous improvement of laboratory calibration activities through the review and analysis of statistical charting that monitors work going in and out of the laboratories.

  • Work with the Quality team to maintain our ISO9001 and ISO17025 registration.

  • Confer with customers and other representatives in planning, scheduling, and production schedules.

  • Maintain and report on the Companys key performance indicators, including OTD, defective PPMs, goals and objectives, corrective action plans, etc.

  • Develop, collect, analyze and interpret quality data through charting and submit the results to designated personnel.

  • Serve as a liaison with customers on issues of product quality or reliability, relating to calibrations.

  • Visit customers, and other Mahr sites when necessary to confer on specific quality issues.

  • Maintain the Companys internal, external and supplier quality programs including REACH & ROHS.

  • Work with department managers to implement effective corrective actions that reduce defects and improve quality.

  • Participate in process improvements, both individually and on teams.

  • Develop, implement and maintain standard operating procedures to insure conformity of products and the up to date training of our employees.

  • Meet with quality representatives and company personnel to discuss and resolve quality problems as required.

  • Coordinate and approve all sample submissions of new products and engineering changes.

  • Work with business systems (PSI Penta, Babtec, and IMS) to implement in process quality procedures in the inspection and manufacturing areas, including shop floor tool calibration management.





Job Requirements:



  • Bachelors Degree in Quality Engineering or equivalent.

  • Advanced knowledge of mathematics, statistics and industrial practices.

  • 8 to 10 years experience in advancing positions of quality assurance, including ISO and industrial manufacturing environments.

  • Strong supervisory skills in order to motivate the team and elicit favorable outcomes.

  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and TQM is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft products, with Access programming experience preferred.
