OVERVIEW:  The Final Assembly-Quality Control Inspector is responsible for insuring finished products meet all defined acceptance criteria.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Inspect final assemblies of ceiling lifts, floor lifts and accessories per determined sampling plans to ensure they meet the specifications outlined in the work instructions.

  • Perform routine audits of final assembly to determine compliance with work instructions and quality system requirements.

  • Report any defect, quantity or receipt error immediately to the Production/Quality Engineer.

  • Document quality related issues (i.e.:  NCR etc.) per established procedures and work instructions.

  • Provide quality metrics on final assembly processes.

  • Participate in Corrective and Preventive Actions in order to improve internal quality processes.

  • Participate in the development of Work Instructions used to manufacture Prism Medical equipment.

  • Additional duties as requested or required.



 


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.



COMPETENCIES:



  • Must have strong attention to detail

  • Must be mechanically inclined and have experience with hand tools and pneumatic equipment

  • Must have knowledge of quality system requirement; such as ISO, FDA, etc.

  • Must be knowledgeable in the operation of inspections equipment (Micrometers, Calipers, Etc.)

  • Responds well to questions

  • Writes clearly and informatively

  • Follows policies and procedures

  • Is consistently at work and on time

  • Follows instructions, responds to management direction

  • Takes responsibility for own actions

  • Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals

  • Observes safety and security procedures

  • Uses measurement equipment and materials properly


 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:



  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, dimensional drawings / specifications and procedural manuals.   Ability to write reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.



EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:



  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); and 2 to 3 years of quality assurance experience; preferably in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.



CERTIFICATES, LICENSES OR REGISTRATIONS:



  • None required.  Quality Assurance certification preferred.



COMPUTER SKILLS:



  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required



PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  



  • The employee may regularly stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch during shift.  Employee will be required to frequently use hand(s) to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms.  Employee must be able to occasionally lift, push, pull and or move up to 50 lbs.



WORK ENVIRONMENT:



  • This position works in an environment with moderate noise levels.



TRAVEL:



  • None is required for this position.
