Essential Job Responsibilities




+ Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product. Collaborates with engineering laboratory and production functions to ensure quality standards are in place. Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.


+ Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess control and manage risks of product quality and determine the responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.


+ Audits quality systems for development acceptance criteria (parameters based on product result).


+ May undertake root cause analysis of incidents requiring corrective action.


+ Ensures that corrective measures and deviation meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.


+ May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.


+ May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality methodologies and utilize quality tools to help drive continuous improvement.


+ Experience using QA software tools and processes.


+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.


+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


+ Excellent project management skills.






Minimum Qualifications







+ 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in realted field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.


+ B.S Degree in quality, industrial, or mechanical engineering.


+ Must have experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or a similar role.


+ Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance






Preferred Requirements







+ ASQ certification preferred.


+ Experience using QA software tools and processes.


+ Develop functional documentation and processes.


+ Interact with various resources at workplace as well as analyst teams.


+ Suggest creative and active solutions for problem.


+ Investigate nonconformances.


+ Assist in test defect management process, monitor and report on defect resolution to management.


+ Identify and suggest changes to predetermined quality guidelines and policies.


+ Develop and maintain Quality Assurance procedure documentation.


+ Prepare, review and present input to quality analysis.


+ Coordinate execution with Project Managers, Operations, Planning and Production Control Managers.


+ Support technical support staff to identify and resolve defects.


+ Evaluate large data amounts from different sources and develop useful summary reports.


+ Identify needed data sources working with data owners.






Physical Requirements



May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
