At our Calibration Laboratory in Medtronic, plc, we focus on ensuring the accuracy of equipment used in the manufacture and test of respiratory care and patient monitoring devices. Calibration Technicians are directly involved in the daily management of the calibration of Inspection, Measurement Test Equipment.

Calibration Technicians ensure that all designated inspection, test and measurement equipment is calibrated in accordance with documented calibration procedures.

Ensure that calibrations are carried out on time.

Ensure that any equipment out of calibration is labeled in accordance with documented procedures and where feasible, removed from the point of use.

Ensure that all designated inspection, test and measurement equipment is uniquely identified.

Ensure that each piece of equipment is calibrated against standards and equipment having a known valid relationship to internationally or nationally recognised standards.

Ensure that the calibration status of all equipment is clearly defined.

Document procedures for calibrating designated equipment, defining the steps involved in carrying out the calibration and the accuracy achieved.

Approve external calibration test houses in accordance with documented procedures.

Manage the calibration schedule.

Maintain and control all calibration records in accordance with documented procedures.

Maintain the Environmental Monitoring System.

Issue calibration failure reports when of equipment is out-of-calibration.

Provide line support where required, in trouble-shooting of equipment.

Comply with all Quality System Requirements in execution of duties.

Follow all environmental, health safety rules and procedures and participate in safety and environmental activities in order to improve the workplace for all employees.


Strong experience in use of electronic / electrical / electro-mechanical / pressure/ flow instrumentation / general measurement equipment.

Strong technical and problem-solving ability.

Knowledge of instrumentation required and ability to understand specifications (i.e. ranges, accuracy, resolution, tolerances etc.)

Working knowledge of Microsoft office packages.

Good knowledge of all relevant quality system requirements.

Relevant third level certificate or diploma or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.
