Position Summary:

L3Harris Advanced Systems & Technologies (AS&T) division specializes in developing disruptive, next-generation technologies for advanced Unmanned Air Systems (UAS / UAV), advanced radar systems, next-generation weapon systems, and other RF sensor technologies using small company agility and big company experience.

As a Quality Assurance Engineer III, you’ll have the opportunity  to become a key part of the Quality department in a busy and growing manufacturing facility. You will leverage your electronic experience and knowledge to successfully support engineering and manufacturing teams during prototype and development efforts, and sustain that success through production support. Appy electrical, electronic and mechanical engineering principles to components, subsystems and systems, including assembly, analysis, testing and documentation of developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components.Your level of success is only predetermined by your level of effort.

Major Job Activities:

  • Lead nonconforming material issue resolution and product acceptance
  • Drive internal and supplier corrective action processes
  • Document and communicate product and process non-conformances and coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Procurement and Configuration Management to resolve technical/quality issues.
  • Provide feedback to product design team to improve design, assembly, maintainability and testability through all phases of the design and development lifecycle.
  • Coordinate drawing changes with design engineer and initiate changes to shop routings and inspection documentation in conjunction with the Manufacturing Department.
  • Develop and maintain Quality documentation such as; receiving inspection plans, inspection checklists procedures, work instructions, forms, etc.
  • Promote the interchange of information, improvement plans, and corrective and preventive actions. Disseminate relevant information to affected functions and personnel. Offer short and long term solutions to resolve product quality and system problems.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager


    • U.S. Citizenship
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Math or Science
    • Ability to obtain a DoD secret clearance
    • Ability to obtain any additional clearances as required 
    • Electronics system level manufacturing/testing/integration background.
    • A STEM Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years      of directly related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
    • Working knowledge of IPC 610 and 620
    • Understanding of root cause corrective action and continuous improvement principles.
    • Written communication skills including a successful track record writing procedures, work instructions and reports, as well as solid personal  computing skills
    • Possess basic knowledge of metrics and statistical control methodologies
    • Desire and ability to work as a team member is essential
    • Demonstrated problem solving skills
    • Excellent people skills to include collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment
    • Outstanding work ethic and commitment      to organizational success
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation)

      Preferred Skills:

      • Aviation  electronics background
      • Circuit Card Assembly/Printed Circuit Board experience
      • Wire/cable harness manufacturing experience
      • Working knowledge of  ISO and AS quality standards and procedures.
      • Self-starter who works well in a team environment.
      • Written communication skills including a successful track record writing procedures, work instructions and reports, as well as solid personal computing skills
      • Prior experience with Costpoint ERP or other ERP systems.
