What you'll do

The QC Associate Scientist position distinguishes itself through collaboration on new method development and testing of raw material/final product analysis requirements. In addition, this position works in close collaboration with the Cytiva Technologies team and Quality partners to, among other things, implement methodologies to support testing lead time reduction and customer requirements.

  • Using knowledge of chemistry/biochemistry/biology to deliver implementation of test methods for purity analysis.
  • Evaluating and extending new concepts as well as providing innovations which can be developed into new product advantages through new and emerging analytical capabilities.
  • Using expertise in chemistry/biochemistry/biology to help resolve urgent issues with current products and test methods
  • The QC Associate Scientist will work in a analytical laboratory focused on the implementation of QC test methodologies to support the business directives for raw materials, cell culture media, process liquids and buffers.
  • Assist in method development projects as assigned. This includes execution and analysis of experiments to support the qualification and validation of new methods or the improvement of current methods.
  • Responsibilities may also include training others the implementation of new methods/equipment and troubleshooting experiments.
  • Some travel (less than 10%) may be required to assist in the transfer of methods to other Cell Culture sites.

    Who you are

    • Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field.
    • Relevant work experience should meet the following threshold levels. 5+ for BS, 2+ years for MS or completion of PhD U.S. Specific Qualifications:
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States full-time
    • Must be willing to work in our Logan, Utah facility full-time
    • Must submit application for employment through gecareers.com (or COS if internal) to be considered
    • Must be 18 years of age or older
    • Must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process
    • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including for example, verification of your past employment, criminal history, and educational background
    • Cytiva will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening.

      Desired Characteristics

      • Masters degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field
      • Previous experience with purity analysis by ICP-MS, HPLC, or related analytical techniques
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills
      • Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task
      • Demonstrated problem solving ability and results orientation
