How will you make an impact?

The Digital Content Project Manager effectively leads, tracks, organizes, communicates, reports, and optimizes content activities as a workstream lead within a larger program or for a stand-alone project. Leads cross-functional digital content projects, such as small web content integrations and programs, as well as smaller division-focused projects, on thermofisher.com, fishersci.com, and related web properties. Serves as the primary contact for both internal and external stakeholders.

What will you do?

  • Responsible for all aspects of project management through the full project life cycle (kickoff through closure)
  • Participate in the development and alignment of project plans, roadmaps
  • Collaborate effectively with Digital Content Managers(DCMs), eBusiness and DTD functional teams, legal, divisional business, and leadership teams
  • Develop standardized project tracking templates and reporting metrics to be used by the team to improve processes and efficiency in tracking and completing projects
  • Maintain and contribute to project collaboration pages and tools in iConnect, IT collaboration systems, and project A3s, using PPI best practices
  • Act as project champion and project “general manager”; manage team to execute all project deliverables; lead cross-functional core team
  • Coordinate, synchronize and manage overall project schedule across teams and functions including the PMO, UX, Product Management, Digital Engineering, etc. as well as 3rd party/external vendors
  • Accountable for execution on, communication of, project timelines
  • May be called upon to assist with management project budget and contract resources, track actual versus plan, and resolve issues as they arise
  • Review team progress against requirements and plans; resolve deviations
  • Assist Core Team Members in resolving extended team and functional issues
  • Prepare and present project updates, including metrics, to executive and steering committees

How will you get here?

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (Life Science, Engineering or related degree)
  • 2+ years of professional experience; at least 1 year of project, program and/or leadership management experience, including familiarity with project tracking tools such as A3, MS Project
  • Familiarity with content management systems, practices, and processes
  • Project management training is a plus but not required

  • Set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals, and track details/data/information/activities
  • Credible, confident and articulate, with excellent communication and presentation skills and the gravitas to deliver ideas clearly and concisely to internal and external stakeholders
  • Able to assess situations to determine the importance, urgency and risks; make clear, timely decisions in the best interest of the organization; and manage mitigation plans
  • Possesses the ability to lead through influence vs. authority
  • Self-motivated work style with strong adherence to deadlines and the ability to work well under pressure
  • Works cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness
  • Strong ability to organize and plan activities toward specific goals and objectives
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a dynamic, matrixed environment
