Job Summary

AECOM has an excellent career opportunity for a Project Engineer I in the field of Stormwater/Water Resources for our office in West Palm Beach, FL. This person will assist in the planning, permitting, design, and construction administration of projects related to storm water infrastructure facilities and civil land development, to include site development, stormwater treatment areas, conveyance systems, pump stations, and other public infrastructure facilities.

AECOM offers a dynamic atmosphere and career growth opportunities for a Project Engineer I with strong communication skills interested in water resources work for a variety of local and regional clients. The successful candidate will be given tasks that will build on his or her experience in order to eventually be responsible for the project management of a project from beginning to through construction.

Responsibilities include but not limited to technical execution of:

  • Hydraulic, hydrologic and pollutant loading analyses and modeling

  • Design of conveyance and treatment systems

  • Site Design and Low Impact Development

  • Capital improvement planning and design for stormwater rehabilitation, maintenance and retrofit projects

  • Watershed and Drainage Basin Evaluation and design

  • Construction Inspection and Administration for public infrastructure projects

  • Technical reports and studies

  • State and Federal Permitting

  • Contract Documents including technical specifications and construction drawings

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Civil, Environmental Engineering or related discipline

  • 5+ years of experience in municipal water resource, land development and engineering design

  • Must be a licensed Professional Engineer in Florida or able to obtain within 6 months.

  • Must have strong technical engineering expertise in water resources, land development and engineering design

  • Must have demonstrated time management skills, work ethic, and attention to detail

  • Must have the ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with technicians, designers, engineers and project managers for the preparation of high-quality work products

  • Must have the ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with clients, regulatory agency representatives and members of the public when required to represent the company

  • Must have a valid driver's license

  • Must have strong communication skills in coordinating with clients, sub-consultants, regulatory agencies, and members of the public may be necessary to accomplish assigned objectives.

  • Occasional business travel of one to two days per month may be required

  • Must have a sound foundation in the planning, permitting, and design of water resources and land development projects

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3-D, ICPR version 4 and ArcGIS
