L3Harris -Aeromet is a Division of Integrated Mission Systems Segment and main office is located in Tulsa, OK.  L3Harris-Aeromet is established within the DoD Community as the developer and operator of special mission ISR systems. We provide special mission system design, modification, and operations with emphasis on the development and integration of state-of-the-art EO/IR sensor systems.

Job Description:

  • Working with Business Development in support of aircraft modification pursuits.  This includes writing and developing technical solutions for the pursuit
  • Leading an aircraft modification projects for all program phases with ISR sensor and aircraft modification experience
  • Must understand and effectively lead / utilize a diverse team of technical subject matter experts and Engineering disciplines as well as contracts, subcontracts, program management.
  • Must have a strong set of core competencies including Problem Solving, Team Leadership, Strategic Thinking / Planning, Communication, IPT / Cross Functional Behavior, Accountability, Critical Thinking, and the highest level of Ethical Conduct.
  • Experience with Aero Design is required (Electrical, Mechanical, Structural)

    Essential Functions:

    • Responsible for planning, organizing, managing, and scheduling of engineering activities throughout projects.
    • Must be capable of interpreting and analyzing customer documents and needs, defining the system-level architecture, and allocating subsystem requirements.
    • Performs system-level analyses, determines necessary trade studies, defines, and allocates the functional requirements to the subsystem engineering staff
    • Leadership experience (especially Project Engineering and/or Chief Engineer)
    • Serves as the central technical interface to the various disciplines (PM, Engineering, Operators, Customers)
    • With assistance from the various engineering disciplines, position is responsible for preparing technical presentations for both internal reviews and customer reviews.
    • The successful candidate will have good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
    • The qualified candidate should be skilled in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, or similar tools


      • Bachelor’s Degree (Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aeronautical Engineering preferred) and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience or a Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience
      • Entire Program/Engineering Life Cycle Phases and Activities
      • Aircraft Modification and Modernization
      • Airworthiness and FAA Certification processes
      • Proposal Development
      • Subcontract technical requirements management
      • Subcontract technical oversight
      • Applicant must have a willingness to relocate to the Tulsa, OK area.
      • Applicant must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
      • The essential physical requirements of the position will be reviewed with the applicant during the interview.
