Job Summary

 

Coordinates and supervises centers service, program and family support staff under direction of Center Director, and according to all applicable laws, contractual and regulatory requirements.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and supervision to service, program and family support staff to ensure quality services in accordance with established policies and procedures, program objectives, licensing standards and contracts.
  • Maintain current knowledge of and serve as acting administrator of assigned programs in accordance with the center, service area, contract and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist Director in program planning, goal setting, outcomes evaluation and measurement, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain regular case record audits to ensure completeness and compliance with prescribed service and licensing standards.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with administrators and comparable personnel at other agencies; represent the organization in interagency context and serve on committees as assigned.
  • Assist in the maintenance of information and data management systems by providing information and statistical reports as required.
  • Assist in preparation of annual operating budget and recommendations for capital expenditures.
  • Demonstrates cultural and ethnic sensitivity with a non-judgmental positive attitude toward families in crisis.
  • Knowledge of and ability to utilize group dynamics and processes. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to advocate for staff and program needs within the Agency and Interagency systems. Ability to work effectively in teamwork relationship with others.
  • Ability to perform basic administrative functions and work within complex agency and social service systems. Ability to understand and apply basic financial information.
  • Ability to effectively use computer software including word processing and spreadsheet programs.
  • Demonstrates good judgment, cooperation and maintains confidentiality.

    Job Qualifications

     

    Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification

    • Masters degree in Social Work, or equivalent social service field. Licensed social worker preferred.

    Experience

    • Three years experience in social work supervision and managing in-home programs. Administrative and clinical experience required.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
    • Ability to read, speak, and write English; prepares for business letters, summaries, and reports using prescribed format and conforming to rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style.
    • Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as multiplication, division, compute ratio, rate and percent.
    • Knowledge and ability to apply advance social work techniques with a variety of populations.
    • Demonstrated skill in providing crisis intervention, assessment of potentially violent situations and short-term goal setting services.
    • Experience working in home-based programs.
    • Knowledge and skills in substance abuse and domestic violence.
    • Ability to engage with and relate to families with multiple problems.
    • Knowledge of treatment philosophies and strategies in home-based services including strength based, solution focused approaches.

    Additional Work Requirements

    • Participate, as required, in a system of 24-hour availability to persons served.
    • Unrestricted valid drivers license with good driving record. Reliable personal transportation suitable for safely transporting persons served; proof of current automobile insurance.

    Physical and Mental Requirements

    • Ability to cope with stress brought on by meeting deadlines and standards, uneven workflow and changing priorities.
    • Engages in meetings and counseling sessions with high level of concentration over extended periods.
    • Lifts and carries small children.
