Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a highly talented Program Manager in Houston, Texas.

The Program Director will be responsible for leading and delivering major capital improvement programs for education clients.

The position will be based in Houston at any of the 2 AECOM office locations or co-located with client depending of program/project needs. The selected candidate is expected to have experience delivering bond programs.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Routinely resolves difficult issues with significant financial impact.

  • Provides primary consulting services to clients of various sizes.

  • Interacts with senior government or public officials and/or executive level clients on significant program matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

  • Assesses and manages risk on behalf of the client.

  • Provides oversight and direction to AECOM PMs and other staff, client staff and subcontractors.

  • Mentors deputy program managers.

  • Requires project and client management experience including management of multiple projects of significant scope and complexity.

  • Leads Large Capital Construction programs in excess of $300M from planning through completion

  • Experience with K-12 district and/or Higher Education clients as owners representative

  • Experience leading departments or teams through program execution

  • Consultant/Owners Representative role experience

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field + 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership

  • Previous experience leading Large Capital Construction programs in excess of $300M from planning through completion

  • Experience with K-12 district and/or Higher Education clients as owners representative

  • Experience leading departments or teams through program execution

  • candidate must have previous Consultant/Owners Representative role experience

  • Lead Program Management teams dedicated to a single client, with potential multi-site assignments.

  • Provide services in alignment with AECOM business core values

  • Engage, develop and grow internal program management staff for career development.

  • Compliance with assigned financial goals and objectives for program/project assigned to the candidate.

  • Profit and Loss responsibility experience a must.

  • Develop and oversee implementation and administration of program procedures, policies, systems and procedures

  • Ability to manage ongoing client reporting for capital program status.

  • Lead client discussions and conversations with executive level personnel, board members and program execution oversight committees.

  • Support and develop program management team members under candidates supervision for professional growth and training needs.

  • Comply with all ethics and business practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to lead client discussions and conversations with executive level personnel, board members and program execution oversight committees.

  • Manage best practices and lessons learned

  • Previous experience determining optimum staffing needs and plans for program assignments under candidates responsibility. Support Business Development team developing staffing plans for other pursuits.
