This position is located in the Northern Virginia Office. 

The ideal candidate for this position will be an outgoing team-player and strategic thinker who can manage multiple tasks and prioritize. The Project Manager will develop project plans, determine key milestones and set timelines for major Professional Development initiatives and events, assist with the planning, development, implementation, maintenance and evaluation of departmental projects and initiatives, including the identification of key metrics, and coordinate logistics for multiple, concurrent events. As the Project Manager, you will work directly with the Director of Professional Development and/or PD Manager, as well as with other cross-functional project managers to facilitate the effective implementation of Professional Development strategic initiatives and special projects.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree  
  • 3 years experience managing projects or programs  
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Power Point to create effective presentations
  • Prior use and good understanding of project management software and applications
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills and diplomacy
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize
  • Excellent time management skills to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience dealing with outside vendors in various organizations
What will your day look like?
In the Project Manager role, you will create clear, action-oriented project plans and drive the Professional Development team to project milestones on time and within budget. This will require the ability to capture and process information from meetings and communications and determine the impact of new information on existing work and dependencies. The Project Manager will schedule and host periodic meetings on outstanding projects to review deadlines, next steps and progress against program and department goals, partner across the PD team, other departments and vendors to develop, streamline, and implement department processes, and analyze and reviews quotes and contracts from various vendors and perform cost analysis against budget.

At the completion of projects, the Project Manager will initiate final invoice requests and coordinate payments to vendors and consultants, gather and analyze post-program feedback to identify areas for continuous improvement. The Project Manager we are looking for anticipates next steps and is able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and team with others, often remotely.
