Product Manager, Urinalysis

Beckman Coulter is looking for an experienced Product Manager to guide product strategy for our Urinalysis Product portfolio. In addition, the incumbent will collect Voice of Customer (VOC) to drive new product development. This role is cross-functional and will require you to work closely with Global & Regional Marketing, Program Management, R&D, Applications, Service, Sales and other technical teams to assess and communicate your product strategy. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Drive upstream marketing support to perform product and life cycle management including, design, development, production, growth and maintenance while meeting annual sales and profit objectives for assigned products
  • Understand customer needs and validate solutions
  • Understand and support assigned product(s)
  • Gather inputs, establish direction and formulate new product features for development. Advise Global Marketing on value propositions, collateral, tools and claims matrix.
  • Demonstrate an end user focus, gaining customer insights, and establishing relationships with industry Key Opinion Leaders (KOL)
  • Perform research and analysis to identify competitive strengths and weakness that will be integrated into new product development and training tools
  • Identify market trends and needs for products and ensure that product designs are matched to customer demand and will deliver profitable market share
  • Support the commercial team in positive customer interfaces
  • Collaborate closely with internal partners: global marketing, regional marketing and procurement to increase revenues and profitability; Marketing to ensure successful launch and positioning; finance and procurement to develop pricing models; Quality and regulatory to provide commercial expertise, R&D and program management to drive new product development and commercial activities are completed
  • May present product at large customer meetings, tradeshows and/or training programs

    The essential requirements of this role include:
    • Bachelor€™s degree in science, engineering or medical field
    • Upstream product marketing
    • Experience interacting with R&D, marketing, sales, regulatory, clinical and quality teams
    • Demonstrated experiences beyond the marketing function, to include clinical, regulatory, business development or other functional experience that adds to their ability to execute role
    • Routinely have served in varied capacities beyond an individual contributor
    • Self-starter, able to work independently
    • Strong business acuity
    • Consistent track record identifying new business opportunities, setting and meeting objectives and develop strong working relationships across all levels of the organization, including proven influencing skills
    • Ability to work effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams
    • Excellent communication skills as well as analytical, project management and planning skills
    • Domestic and international travel required, 25% estimated

      Preferred
      • MBA
      • Related experience with urinalysis or hematology
      • Strong working knowledge of FDA IVD requirements and product development process guidelines in a global regulatory environment
