Product Manager - AWS Prescriptive Guidance

AWS Professional Services engage in a wide variety of projects for customers and partners, providing collective AWS customer experience, best practices, and obsessing about strong success for the Customer. Our team collaborates across the entire AWS organization to bring access to product, service, and training teams, to deliver the right solutions and drive feature innovations for our customers across all industries.

AWS Prescriptive Guidance (APG) team drives global programs that support our AWS Professional Services as they help our customers succeed. You will be responsible for managing the lifecycle of APG, including tooling (content pipeline management) and User Experience on global AWS Prescriptive Guidance website. You will be able to distill clear requirements from large and diverse sets of customers, partners, and internal AWS users. You will perform or commission market research, usability studies, and create focus groups to identify best of breed benchmarks and solve customer problems. You will identify meaningful components in a competitive analysis and use it to make informed product decisions. You will communicate product feature releases through internal and external communication channels . You will determine when it is appropriate to build, improve an existing solution, or integrate existing features for a more cohesive end-to-end customer experience. You must be able to evaluate whether a product to be launched meets the identified success criteria. You will influence technical priorities and business strategy through data-driven decisions. You will work with engineering and not allow software work to be de-scoped to a less than acceptable product. You will be an effective negotiator, make smart trade-offs (e.g., time vs. effort vs. features), and drive appropriate schedules. You will collect and analyze feedback from APG website to improve overall user experience and content quality. You will write narratives on to-be-built features and enhancements to improve APG adoption and value.

You will develop product roadmap with clear, measurable success criteria. You will define mechanisms and metrics (e.g., KPIs, adoption, usability, value, awareness) that enable you to quickly explain your product€™s/feature adoption, performance and any variance against goals. You will proactively seek out new and improved data/mechanisms that make the customer experience visible and to ensure your product stays aligned with business goals. You will define showstoppers related to product quality, make sure bugs are triaged, and ensure issues are resolved or mitigated in the right order. You will work with marketing to promote product/feature, including branding, messaging, placement, and promotions. You will contribute to building marketing materials and training content for sales and account management roles.

This is a customer facing role. You will be required to travel to client locations to deliver professional services when needed.


- 5+ years of Product Management experience for a global organization delivering delightful customer-facing online products.
- 5+ years€™ experience in working with engineering teams in an Agile delivery model managing feature backlog.
- 5+ years of Product Management managing short and long-term feature roadmaps with clear, measurable success criteria.
- Skills and experience in influencing others outside of direct line of reporting, and advocating on behalf of the customer
- Experience analyzing and visualizing vast quantities of data to extract patterns and trends.
- Bachelor€™s Degree or equivalent experience


- Demonstrated ability to deliver knowledge-based online products that delight customers.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills that enable you to earn trust at all levels, including senior leadership
- History of teamwork and willingness to roll up sleeves to get the job done
- Independent thinker capable of operating within ambiguously defined structures with a bias for delivering tangible results.
- High attention to detail including precise and effective customer communications and ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
- Able to navigate ambiguous situations, identify and solve for blockers with minimal guidance, know how to influence, build cross-organizational partnerships.
- Skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive actions.
- Desire to learn and stay on top of technology trends
- MBA degree
