Amazon Robotics is seeking a talented and motivated Product Launch Manager (PLM) who will be part of the AR launch management team focused on seamlessly delivering strategic product initiatives to the field. The PLM will manage the new product launch of innovative programs aimed at improving the efficiency and lowering the cost of Amazon€™s next-generation Fulfillment and Sortation Centers. This position is responsible for coordination, communication, risk management and for serving as liaison between Fulfillment and Sort Center Operations, Program Management, Product Management, Operations Engineering, Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering and Product IT. This role will require the ability to build relationships and capture and synthesize the voice of the customer.

Key job responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and communicate product launch plans and track the deliverables, milestones, risks and dependencies from the cross functional product launch team. Anticipate bottlenecks, explore contingencies and provide escalation management throughout new product launch.
  • Establish and develop relationships with Warehouse Operations early in the launch process and utilize these relationships to develop strategic partnerships throughout launch.
  • Leverage operations background and site knowledge to influence the program design of experiments (DOE), creating realistic, effective, and efficient data validation plans.
  • Leverage product knowledge to influence the product requirements and functional requirements early in the development process, ensure that the operational perspective is captured in these and other design documentation.
  • Hold regular Launch Readiness Meetings with Amazon Robotics executive management, and coordinate stakeholder support for these meetings.
  • Coordinate Amazon Robotics staff for new product introduction while onsite. This includes system delivery, install, and initial checkout. Partner with Program Managers and Development Leads to troubleshoot issues quickly and maintain launch plans.
  • As the onsite Product Launch Manager, identify missed, incomplete, or latent customer requirements, and drive these requirements until they are either fixed outright, dispositioned or incorporated into the product roadmap.
  • Capture and synthesize the Voice of the Customer (VoC) for all new product introductions and leverage this information to prioritize system defects and lead the triage efforts with product development.
  • Assist the training manager in organizing, delivering and improving the relevant product training materials.
  • Organize cross- functional launch retrospectives to incorporate lessons learned into future launch plans.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor€™s degree in a Technical Field (Engineering/Mathematics/Science)
  • 3+ years of experience running complex software and hardware projects with multiple stakeholders, and aggressive schedules in real world environments.
  • 3+ years of Product/Program Management experience



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Track record for managing complex technology product launches with aggressive schedules and scarce resources.
  • MBA or advanced technical degree and Project Management Professional (PMP) desirable.
  • Understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
  • Executive presence and ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical individuals.
  • Customer facing experience in a technical role
  • Track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to motivate and influence teams outside of your direct view
  • Strong data and analytical skills and proven experience developing and using tools to analyze large data sets to drive decisions.
  • Experience in an operational/industrial environment, preferably within a Fulfillment Center, or similar e-Commerce Distribution center
  • Experience with cross geographical project coordination and managemen
  • Proven problem -solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
