This Principal Product Engineer is in the Sourcing Continuity Engineering function. This position entails developing technical solutions for components sourced from suppliers. This position supports MECC where components from suppliers are received and used. This position involves working closely with several other functions, including Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, Reliability, and Regulatory.


A Day in the Life:


Responsible for maintaining continuity of supply of components purchased from suppliers


Responsible for all engineering change activities associated with components purchased from suppliers


Responsible for CAPAs associated with suppliers


Leads cross-functional teams to drive root cause and final resolution of supplier related issues


Leads quality improvement and cost improvement projects


Required:


Process / manufacturing engineering experience or experience in Supplier Quality/Supplier Management


BS Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Materials Engineering and 7-10 years of experience or 5-8 years of experience with an MS degree


Nice to Have:


Experience leading and managing projects independently


Knowledge of statistical data analysis methods and related statistical tools


Gage RR


Experience using Minitab to analyze data


Knowledge of materials (polymers, metals) is a plus


Experience working in regulated industry like medical devices is preferred


Proven problem solving skills; knowledge of DMAIC is preferred


Excellent leadership skills to lead and own issues all the way to resolution


Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills


Ability to multi-task and be organized
