Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a talented Program Quality Engineer to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland.

The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Program Quality Engineering team that is engaged with cutting edge technology on a dynamic portfolio of products to meet our customer's mission needs.

The Program Quality Engineer performs tasks that contribute to the completion of program execution for one or more programs to meet the requirements of the contract(s) and business. . This position will work on both development and production programs.

Roles and Responsibilities:

+ Develops, modifies, implements and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.
+ Collaborates broadly with program management, supply chain, contracts, engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure effective quality standards are in place, and that quality products are delivered to our customers.
+ Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
+ Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
+ Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
+ Evaluates and reports on design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development for product or process quality.
+ Identifies and reports product or process non-conformances and/or non-compliances.
+ Ensures that corrective measures are performed to completion, meet acceptable reliability standards and documentation is compliant with requirements.
+ Identify and support efforts to eliminate waste and improving processes in Surface Mount Technology and Micro-electronic product cells/work areas
+ Represents the organization in finding solutions to difficult technical issues.
+ Has frequent inter-organizational and outside customer and supplier contacts. Be willing to travel to customer and supplier sites for auditing, assessing product performance and customer sell off purposes.
+ Assures contractual work products from suppliers through operations are completed and delivered on-time.

This position may be filled at a level 3 or 4 depending on experience.

**Qualifications:**

**Basic Qualifications for a level 3:**

+ Bachelors Degree in STEM Discipline
+ Five (5)+ years of related work experience (or a Master's Degree with 7+ years of work experience OR a PhD and 5+ years of related experience) in software, systems, or quality engineering.

+ Experience working in a ISO 9001 or AS9100 certified DoD environment.
+ Exposure to lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies
+ Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
+ Fluent with Microsoft Office products, especially PowerPoint and Excel
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

**Basic Qualifications for a level 4:**

+ Bachelors Degree in STEM Discipline
+ Nine (9)+ years of related work experience (or a Master's Degree with 7+ years of work experience OR a PhD and 5+ years of related experience) in software, systems, or quality engineering.

+ Experience working in a ISO 9001 or AS9100 certified DoD environment.
+ Exposure to lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies
+ Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
+ Fluent with Microsoft Office products, especially PowerPoint and Excel
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

**Preferred Qualifications for both levels:**

+ Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
+ Experience with Agile methods.
+ Agile Scrum leader experience.
+ Knowledge of SAP
+ Active Secret Security Clearance.
