Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RIS), located in
Aurora, Colorado
is looking for a candidate to join our world-class engineering team as a
Scrum Master.
Reporting to the
KERBEROS
Program Manager, this is a critical position and plays a key role in the success of the software development on the program.
This role works closely with the execution Program Leadership, Product Owner (SEIT), other Scrum Masters, to de-conflict SW/SEIT Development priorities, resolve cross-component issues, lead the sprint and increment planning and facilitate cross-team/cross-discipline coordination and communication
. This position coordinates with the Product Owner to plan the development increments and software builds in support of the IMS (Integrated Master Schedule).
The selected candidate must have an active TS/SCI clearance.
A bonus of "up to" $40,000.00 is available to hired applicants with an active TS/SCI, or higher clearance
Responsibilities:
Guide the Agile teams on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to deliver high quality software; Familiarity with common Agile practices, service-oriented environments, and better development practices
Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques; Understand backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and task definition
Must be able to ensure Agile/Scrum concepts and principles are adhered to, must be able to be a voice of reason and authority
Conduct/Lead quarterly increment planning and develop increment metrics; Understand incremental delivery and the value of metrics
Must be able to lead component team Scrum Members to self-organization/ownership of tasks
Plan regular software builds/deliveries in support of parallel program schedules
With the Product Owner, provide input to the Program Build Plan and de-conflict with the program delivery Plan
Work with Chief Engineer and Product Owners to define the Increment and Build Plan priorities
Conduct and Publish Lessons Learned from each Sprint/Increment
Excellent communication and mentoring skills; Must be able to communicate well with teams
Engages with other Scrum Masters, Product Owners and Leadership as required to ensure that all relevant inputs to the Product Backlog have been collected and prioritized
Responsible for working with the other program Scrum Masters, Product Owners and individual developers to ensure feature story completion and ensures user stories meet the acceptance criteria
Must be able to notice differences and issues, prioritize and assign program resources to resolution
Keep management informed of impacts and solution paths for ongoing issues
Must be able to facilitate discussion and facilitate alternatives or different approaches
Understand basic fundamentals of agile software development processes and procedures
Understand other processes and methodologies and can speak intelligently about them and leverage other techniques to provide value to a team/enterprise
Understand the value of commitments to delivery made by a development team
Work with the SW CPT Lead to report Agile Development Metrics
An excellent communicator/facilitator who can relate to the technical team and facilitate effective and efficient meetings
Drive team to closure to meet sprint/increment commitments
Required Skills:
8+ years of experience working in the software development industry
Active TS/SCI clearance
2-4+ years of experience as a SW Program/Task Manager
2-4+ years of experience working with Agile practices
Ability to lead / manage tasks over a large group of engineers (20+) and coordinate issues/priorities across disciplines
Ability to manage, train and mentor junior engineers
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Current in the technologies, methodologies, processes and tools used in the software industry with a demonstrated track record of deploying these on programs.
Existing SCI security clearance
Experience with Application Lifecycle Management applications
Record of High Performance and proven/well-developed problem-solving skills
Can engage stakeholders in critical discussions and building consensus
Desired Skills:
Masters Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or other relevant STEM discipline.
CSM (Certified Scrum Master) / CSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner)
Experience working on a program using a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
Experience dealing with Information Assurance and Cyber Security requirements.
Required Education (including Major):
Bachelors degree in STEM and minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
