The Human Resources (HR) team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a candidate to join a growing community of committed HR professionals in Baltimore, MD. The selected candidate will have ownership for providing Labor Relations Business Partner Support to our Manufacturing/Production Operations organization. The selected candidate will partner with leadership on the implementation of Labor Relations and Human Resources strategy, including employee relations, Union negotiations, CBA implementation, performance management, rewards and recognition, leadership selections and development and other areas as a Labor Relations subject matter expert. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate leadership and relationship building skills, a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business. Skillful verbal and written communication talents are required, and the ideal candidate will have prior success building or enhancing a collaborative, supportive and understanding work environment in a unionized setting. The successful candidate will demonstrate how they have supported their prior teams through organization, self-motivation and task ownership skills, with the ability to accomplish complex duties in a high-impact, time sensitive environment.

Specific duties and responsibilities include the following:

+ Establish intimate understanding of the business, build and expand relationships with client leadership teams, and create close partnerships across the organizations
+ Maintain credibility as a subject matter expert in the applicable collective bargaining agreements in effect at the site.
+ Proactively maintain collaborative relationships with Union leaders
+ Investigate and close out grievances within assigned area.
+ Identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the organization and develop solutions in partnership with leadership. Advise leadership on new ideas and winning practices in the areas of talent acquisition, assessment, development, compensation, organizational effectiveness, strategy, on-boarding, change management and communications
+ Analyze and concisely present information to the management team to enable business growth and sound decision making
+ Provide business insight through data analysis, research and benchmarking
+ Play a key change leadership role by reinforcing a culture of growth, innovation and calculated risk taking through the application of human capital strategy, tools and processes
+ This position requires the ability to relate to a unionized touch labor workforce as well as executive senior leadership and the ideal candidate will possess a track record of leadership and decision-making skills with the ability to realize results in an environment of ambiguity

Candidate may be required to travel up to 10% of time for domestic business, sometimes with short notice. This position can be filled at a level 3 or level 4.

**Basic Qualifications** :

+ Bachelor's degree required plus a minimum of 6 years of experience in Human Resources, Business Management or related field
+ Proven experience in being proactive in building relationship with leaders as well as touch labor employees
+ Proficient verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with and influence others. Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
+ Ability to support the business, Labor Relations team with minimal task supervision, utilizing relationships to ensure alignment with organizational priorities

**Preferred Qualifications** :

+ Preferred degree in Industrial Labor Relations, Human Resource management, Business, Organization Development, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or related field
+ Experience working in a Unionized environment and an understanding of applicable NLRB practices and policies
+ Experience as a labor relations professional, responsible for maintaining relationships with Union officials
+ Change management experience
+ Proven ability to challenge and push back working with difficult people or tough client group leaders
+ Working knowledge of HRIS platforms and technology, with preferred applications experience in PeopleSoft/CHR, SAP, Taleo/Talent+ and Saba Learning Exchange (LX)
+ Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to be flexible and adjust direction when needed
+ Experience in proactive HR assessment, diagnosis and solutioning of business challenges
+ Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects to completion including organizing, planning, scheduling and following up on all project related items
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance

Salary Range: $80,100.00 - $120,100.00Salary Range 2: $99,200.00 - $148,800.00

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
