The Cardiac and Vascular
Group brings all of our cardiac and vascular businesses together into one
cross-functional, collaborative operating unit to employ the full breadth of
our talent, technologies, products, services, and solutions to address the needs
of customers and patients across the globe.

Cardiac Rhythm and Heart
Failure offers devices and therapies to treat abnormal heart rhythms, as well
as cardiac diagnostic and monitoring solutions. This role will be supporting our Mechanical
Circulatory Support Devices (MSC).

The Principal Packaging Engineer
contributes to product and process development of Class III medical devices
through leading/performing a wide variety
of complex duties, in a multi-functional environment of labeling,
design/process development and testing of packaging for medical devices.

Primary responsibilities include
leading and executing to the completion of packaging engineering milestones for
assigned projects. The Principal Packaging Engineer interacts frequently with
cross functional resources such as Program Managers, other Engineering teams
(mechanical, software, electrical, systems), Marketing, Logistics,
Manufacturing Operations (internal and external), Regulatory, and
Quality/Design Assurance.

**A Day in the Life**

+ Developmentof package labels, packaging components and assemblies for medical devices.

+ Supportsverification, validation, and implementation of package systems for both designand process development.

+ Activelycollaborates with Packaging and Labeling peers across Medtronic to identify andimplement best practices.

+ Serves as asubject matter expert on cross-functional, cross-divisional project teamsfocusing on design, technology and process.

+ Supportsmanufacturing driven packaging initiatives with technical expertise.

+ Supportsissue investigations and corrective actions.

+ Developstechnical documentation including design plans, input requirements, validationsand technical reports in accordance with quality system requirements.

+ Utilizesknowledge of FDA and ISO requirements related to packaging and labeling,ensuring robust package validation and qualification.

+ Utilizeproject management skills to gain alignment, lead cross functional teams, anddrive continuous improvement projects that focus on best in class outcomes.

+ Providesguidance, coaching and training to others within packaging engineering team.

**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**

+ BS in Packaging or a related engineering field(i.e. Mechanical, Biomedical, Materials)

+ Minimum7 years packaging engineering experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of5 years of relevant experience

**Nice to Have/ Preferred skills**

+ Packagingengineering experience in the Medical Device or Pharmaceutical Industry.

+ 2 +years experience leading package engineeringprojects/deliverables.

+ Excellent communication and presentation skills

+ Project management skills

+ Experiencewith Solid Works

+ Experiencewith labeling systems/ requirements

+ Stronginterpersonal skills and the ability to work independently (self- directed)

+ Strongplanning, organizational and leadership skills.
