Position Overview

To support the growth of our global Mechanical Integrity (MI) consulting and software solutions offerings, we are seeking to appoint to the position of Mechanical Integrity Consultant who will apply his/her expertise to consult, develop, and implement our clients strategies for managing their Asset Integrity programs. The candidate must have demonstrated industry and domain knowledge, have applicable certifications and shown active thought leadership in the industry. The position will be based in Houston, Texas.


+ Enhances Siemens existing MI capabilities through engagement with existing client network and identifying new potential collaborators/clients to maximize business opportunities.

+ Supports the business to establish short/long term strategies to build MI capabilities (software and services) and lead implementation where required.

+ Supports global sales opportunities during customer visits and discussions by clearly and fluently explaining value proposition to support customer needs and affect sales.

+ Supports as technical lead for global inquiries and business development activities.

+ Provides new design specification and/or technical action plan preparation upon understanding customer requirements so that the clients can operate in compliance with the regulations and standards.

+ Builds and leads MI solutions with/for clients to promote sharing of knowledge and experience, and application of best practice across the industry.

+ Represents Siemens in industry forums in the MI and Inspection domain (API, ASME, NACE, etc.) providing thought leadership and representation in technical committees.

+ Leverages multiple projects in development of commercial software and services.

+ Leads or supports inspection programs, Inspection Data Management System (IDMS) and MI programs in support of execution of customer engagements.

+ Performs quality checks on MI projects before delivery to the client and communicate technical requirements and deliverables.

+ Supports capability development in MI and RBI, including development and delivery of training materials and coaching staff.

+ Interfaces with business regional offices to help implement and sustain MI capabilities as needed.

+ Acts as a strategic advisor for the portfolio development in consulting, software, and engineering services within the MI domain.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

+ BA/BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field. MS or PhD degree is a plus

+ Certifications (API or equivalent) in 510, 580, 581, 570, 571, 579 is desired

+ 10+ years of experience in Mechanical Integrity (MI) related domain in the process industries of Oil & Gas, Refining, Petrochemicals, and Chemicals.

+ Experience in the following MI areas is required:

+ Applications of MI concepts and tools, e.g., RBI, RCM, FFS, IOW, etc.

+ RBI methodologies, e.g., API RP 580, API RP 581, and practical application

+ Development and implementation of IDMS and ITPM programs

+ Operation of pressure equipment and management of ageing assets

+ In service degradation of materials and corrosion assessment

+ Asset inspection relevant industry design codes and standards, e.g., ASME, API, CCPS

+ Project Management of consulting and engineering studies

+ Capability development in MI products and services

+ Exposure with the following software is desirable: PSAIM, UltraPIPE, API RBI, RiskWISE and/or Capstone RBMI, Meridium Corrosion and Inspection Manager.

+ Excellent problem solving, organizational, analytical and influencing skills, with proven ability to take initiative and build strong productive relationships.

+ Excellent oral/written communication and listening skills will be necessary to present information, analysis and recommendations to all levels of employees, including management, product development, and customers.

+ Able to travel up to 25% of the time.
