Provide financial support and analysis for the RD spend within the Coronary
and Structural Heart (CSH) businesses.Serve as the primary finance partner for cost
center leaders as well as cross-functional teams, to develop and maintain complex
spend project and scenario modeling for Strategic Plan, Annual Planning and Forecasting.This role closely partners with and
delivers analysis to both Finance leadership and our RD leaders.


**A Day in the Life**


Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.


CORE ROLE ACTIVITIES


+ Month-end activities: execute standard period and quarter-endfinancial close activities (spending reviews and establishing what accruals areneeded) as well as support business reviews through standard and ad-hocreporting analyses.

+ Financial modeling and Forecasting: partner with the project leads to develop andmaintain financial models for both forecasting and month-end accrualreconciliations, as well as updating the infrastructure forecasts for CostCenters. Develop multiple scenarios fornew projects, with sensitivity analysis on cost and timing, when needed for newproject funding decisions during Annual Planning and Strat Plan

+ Reporting: update monthly and qtrly reporting foractuals and variances, along with refreshed projected spend, to proactivelyhelp drive our business partners towards alignment with their financial targetsand goals

+ Influencing and leadership: develop and maintain strong relationshipswith key RD Functional leaders and Finance partners across MDT, including Internationalregions and Corporate Shared Service partners.Actively participate in defining consistent processes for forecastingand financial accuracy accountability with these partners.

+ Educating and Training: Focus on helping our partners developeffective financial business acumen and train them on applicable finance policies(example: RD Inventory Policy andCost Center management)

ACTIVITIES


+ If assigned to a Cross-functionalproject Core team: partner with core teamleaders in managing all financial aspects of their projects including AOP,forecasting, trade-off decisions, financial reporting, etc.

+ Identify and drive process improvements

+ Special requests, projects,and financial presentations for management as required or requested


**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**


Bachelors Degree with 7+ years of work experience
in Finance and/or Accounting OR
Advanced Degree with 5+ years of work experience in Finance and/or Accounting


**Nice to Have**


+ Proficient in Microsoft Officeapplications, especially Excel (including charts, pivot tables lookuptables) and PowerPoint

+ Solid accounting (GAAP), financial and businessmanagement foundation

+ MBA/CPA/CMA Finance and Accounting Knowledge

+ Medtronic business unit finance experience

+ Strong ability to work in financial/reporting systems (SAP, Hyperion,CMR, SPEND, BOXI)

+ Experience operating in a fast-paced, complex, matrix organization withvarious levels of management effectively influencing the decision-makingprocess by taking initiative to communicate appropriate courses of actionbacked by sound financial analysis

+ Ability to manage and manipulate data, financial results and ideas todevelop financial analysis and transform it into concise presentations forvarious level of management

+ Exhibit accountability and flexibility in taking on multiple taskssimultaneously, prioritizing effectively, managing tight time commitments andworking independently in a high-paced environment full of changes anduncertainties

+ Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment andbuild strong business partnering relationships across functions
