Title: Principal Engineer  

Duration: 12+ months

Location: Marion NC

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Support the Water for Injection (WFI) project by demonstrating engineering principles standard to resolve difficult problems, from conception to final design with team input.
Plans, schedules and leads project assignments in the evaluation, selection and adaptation of various engineering techniques, procedures and criteria with minimal guidance.
With minimal guidance, schedules and leads a team through the planning and execution of a smaller project or defined piece of a larger project. This includes constructing detailed, accurate project schedules, interfacing with development groups and technical support groups.
Devises new approaches to complex problems through adaptations and modifications of standard technical principles.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Coordinates with fellow cross-functional team members to complete assigned work.
Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles.
Assist Project Manager (PM) in completing all required change control documentation for the project including TrackWise8 activities.
Coordinate addition of preventative maintenance tasks and spare parts into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Complete documentation for issuance of asset numbers for the new equipment.
Assist PM with overseeing installation of equipment to ensure it’s being completed per the design.
Tracking and organization of all contractor documentation related to welding, passivation, and equipment/system drawings.
Generate required forms to implement design documentation in various document repositories (Drafting, Document Center, etc..).
Generate User Requirement Specifications for new equipment and processes.
Support efforts to bring the new WFI system into a production state.
Oversee construction of the new Instrument Shop by interfacing with construction personnel to ensure that designs are being implemented according to released drawings.
Maintain a detailed project schedule for pipe installation that is coordinated with overall project schedule.
Coordinate each clean room pipe installation with cross-functional team.
Monitor and report on progress of warehouse pipe racks and pipe runs.
Interact with STS and Mix teams to ensure continued alignment of major milestones.
Setup new storage tanks and WFI skids into the North Cove asset system.
Ensure all piping and valves are completely labeled per standards.


 

Qualifications:  


Display a solid understanding of theories/practices utilized by other disciplines outside primary area of expertise.
Ability to convince management on courses of action with minimal assistance using both written and verbal methods.
Effectively operate in, and may facilitate, cross-functional teams with guidance.
Must be able to provide solutions that reflect understanding business objectives and cost implications.
Understand verbal and written safety and quality instructions and read and comprehend written work instructions including words and drawings.
Must have basic English written and oral communication skills adequate to communicate with other team members.
Learn, understand and apply rigorous quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
Experience in corporate change control and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) a plus.
Must be able to comprehend and follow local Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).


 

Education / Experience:


BS in Engineering (discipline: Mechanical, preferred) with 5-8 years of recent and relevant experience.
Proficient in MS Outlook, Word and Excel. Experience in MS Project, AutoCAD, Trackwise8 and Visio helpful.
Experience with Pharmaceutical clean water systems a heavy plus.
Minimum of 5-8 years of recent and relevant experience.
Experience in change control documentation and project management.
Experience with Pharmaceutical clean water systems a heavy plus.
Experience in corporate change control and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) a plus
Must be able to comprehend and follow local Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
