Under minimal direction, supports the development of new products, fixtures, tools and processes and the maintenance of existing products utilizing advanced design practices, modeling and simulation tools in a fast-paced cross-functional design environment.  Stays current on new technologies and analysis techniques and utilizes them in new designs.  Exhibits quality in their work and pushes for excellence in themselves and others.

Job Duties

  • Ownership of mixed signal embedded system design cycle from requirements through commercial launch
  • Applies advanced engineering and scientific principles to architecture, embedded firmware, and  electronic circuit designs and test data to determine optimal design choices and solutions to issues
  • Responsible for developing new designs independently while effectively leveraging other team members
  • Plans and coordinates design activities with larger product development team to assure project completion
  • Plans architecture feature design allocation and interface solutions
  • Investigates and addresses key issues with existing products
  • Investigates and researches new technology and produces prototype concepts prior to product development implementation
  • Mentors and trains other design engineers
  • This is a non-supervisory role

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Software, or Electrical Engineering or related field
    • 15+ years of relevant architecture and component design utilizing best practices in electrical circuit, embedded firmware, and software design
    • Demonstrated experience with modeling/simulation software (i.e. Math, Spice, Layout simulation) and embedded firmware development platforms and compilers
    • Key contributor to at least 5 embedded system product development cycles
    • Experience with C/C++ firmware development
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate at multiple levels of the organization

      Desired Qualifications

      • Advanced degree in Computer, Software, or Electrical Engineering or related field
      • Experience with Bluetooth Low Energy communication
      • Working knowledge of electromagnetism
      • AIMD (Active Implantable Medical Device) MRI safety experience
      • Experience with Altium Designer
      • Experience with medical device design
      • Experience with C# development
