As part of the strategic goal, Wealth Management business is seeking help from technology to build a turn-key solution that addresses the end-to-end client management needs. The initiatives would include front/back office automation, Portfolio Manager Automation and create a straight thru processing for the front office. As wealth management platform looks to expand its foot-print, it is mandatory to explore into a NON-SQL database architecture that supports decentralization and efficient data access. The data architect/developer will play a vital role in planning, designing, implementing and determining the strategy of the Wealth Management data architecture, which aligns with business strategy, goals, and objectives. Role: Principal Developer/Data Architect-Scientist Job Duties:
  • Lead and assist with the technical design/architecture and implementation of the NON SQL DB in various environments.
  • Benchmark and debug critical issues with algorithms and software as they arise.
  • Work with line of business (LOB) personnel, external vendors, and internal Data Services team to develop system specifications in compliance with corporate standards for architecture adherence and performance guidelines.
  • Document the Bank's existing solution architecture and technology portfolio and make recommendations for improvements and/or alternatives.
  • Analytical Skills: Able to consume the historical performance and portfolio data to create a proposal for the client
  • Communication Skills: The person should be able to communicate effectively while working with data administrators, data analysts and management
  • Attention to Detail: Because of the sensitivity of the data used in Wealth Management, it is important to be accurate and error-free while processing the data
  • Logical Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills: Able to come with solutions that matches the strategic vision of the business. Flair for Mathematics and Statistics
  • Technical skills: Machine Learning, Sound knowledge of relational databases (SQL) and experience with large SQL based systems, NO SQL expertise (preference MongoDB), Java,
  • Process skills: Agile (SAFE preferred).
  • Overall Experience:
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering or related field required (Masters degree preferred)
  • Deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, performance optimization techniques and software development in a team environment.Experience in Java, Spark, Map Reduce, RDBMS, Hive/Pig, Scala, Linux/Unix technologies.Proven ability to work in distributed systems
  • Proficiency with Oracle required
  • Must be able to develop creative solutions to problems Desired Skills:
    1. Experience in the financial services industry

Principal Developer

  • Consults with internal business groups to provide high-level application software development services or technical support.
  • Provides comprehensive senior-level technical consulting to IT management and senior technical staffs.
  • Evaluates compliance with the organization's technology standards.
  • Works with internal business groups on implementation opportunities, challenges, and requirements of various applications.
  • Analyzes information and provides recommendations to address and resolve business issues for a specific business group.
  • Guides and consults with IT management and technical staffs regarding use of emerging technologies and associated services.
  • Participates in defining corporate implementation and integration strategies of new technologies.
  • Advocates for innovative, creative technology solutions.
  • Contributes to the achievement of area objectives.


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required
  • 10-12 years of experience in software development required
  • Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
