**Northrop Grumman Mission Systems** is seeking a talented **Principal Network Engineer** to join an exciting, complex, mission-focused project working with a team of qualified diverse individuals in **Dulles, VA.**

**Primary Responsibilities:**

+ Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
+ Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network design.
+ Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
+ Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems.
+ Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ 6 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD; or 10 years of exp in lieu of degree.
+ Familiar with various network protocols, such as BGP, OSPF and EIGRP.
+ Implement and troubleshoot LAN technologies such as VLANs, trunking (port tagging), spanning-tree and protocols.
+ Familiar and operating network CLIs (ideally, Cisco IOS/IOS-XE).
+ Familiar with network management protocols, like SNMP, SSH, syslog, RADIUS/TACACS.
+ Active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ 5 years of Network administration of routers, switches, and firewalls
+ Worked in or with cloud-based technologies

Salary Range: $111,600.00 - $167,400.00

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
