Practice Development Manager, Global Litigation Department

Greenberg Traurig, a global law firm, currently has an excellent full-time Practice Development employment opportunity in its Atlanta office, working with its Pharmaceutical, Medical Device and Health Care Litigation Practice and its Trial Practice.

Position Summary
The candidate must be a self-starter who is flexible, dedicated, client-service oriented, resourceful, collaborative and focused on supporting the firm’s Pharmaceutical, Medical Device and Health Care Litigation Practice and its Trial Practice. The ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, both written and verbal, is essential. This candidate must possess a strong client service orientation and an ability to develop relationships within the firm. This role will be responsible for contributing to a broad range of practice-specific business development and marketing activities. 

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Work hand-in-hand with global marketing team resources to help implement the marketing and business development initiatives of the firm’s Pharmaceutical, Medical Device and Health Care Litigation Practice and its Trial Practice.
  • Work with regional and practice group managers and the business development team to support Litigation-related proposal requests and RFPs.
  • Creating targeted proposals, as well as the development and management of supporting resources and materials, including practice descriptions, experience databases and client lists.
  • Support the Pharmaceutical, Medical Device and Health Care Litigation Practice and Trial Practice attorneys in delivering strategic marketing and business development plans/programs and in cross-marketing initiatives.
  • Identify, organize, arrange and support practice-specific sponsorships and events.
  • Gathering market research and analysis on targets/sectors, as needed.
  • Organizing regularly-scheduled practice group conference calls, as well as initiating following-up on specific action items arising from those discussions.
  • Draft, edit and distribute marketing materials, internal newsletters, press releases, seminar materials, client updates and other client communications, as needed.
  • Ensure the flow of information from attorneys to marketing team, including as it relates to attorney biographies, practice area description updates, experience tracking news and activities data, press releases, etc.
  • Assist with a variety of other short and long term projects and attorney requests.
  • Collaborate with marketing professionals throughout the firm, including the communications team, events team and design team.

    • Strong client service skills and overall adaptability.
    • Ability to work well under pressure, including under tight deadlines.
    • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, including solid composition, research and editing skills.
    • Must be a self-starter, organized, able to work with a minimum of supervision, yet be part of a global team.
    • Problem-solving ingenuity and ability to prioritize and manage multiple activities.
    • Attention to detail.
      Qualifications & Prior Experience
      • Bachelor’s degree required; Masters or JD preferred.
      • Candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in marketing or business development.
      • High level of proficiency using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
      • Experience at a law firm working with products liability and/or trial related practices is preferred.
