This DevOps leadership role is for a hands-on soluitons architect who is entrepreneurial and driven to get her/his products delivered. This position will provide tactical and strategic thinking, planning and actions on set of practices that combines Software Development (Dev) and Information Technology Operations (Ops). He or She will lead the team to provide quick and continuous delivery with high software quality.

As our organizations top Technical DevOps expert, you will liaison with multiple vendors and internal partners to verify strategy and architectural decisions to support the safety critical software for medical devices which over 400,000 people depend on each day.

**A Day in the Life**

Tech lead Dev Ops team to meet goals of improved deployment frequency, faster time to market, lower failure rate of new releases, shortened lead time between fixes and faster mean time to recovery

Strategic planning of future direction and growth for better software development and operations

Design infrastructure roadmaps, and strategies that scale horizontally and provide the balance between security, supportability, and usability

Cross-functional working, optimize, align and practice the methodology use different sets of tools in development and delivery process

Partner with functional manager for project planning along with the risks or challenges management, and determines the most efficient way to achieve strategic goals

Create new processes, execute and provide training on repeatable processes for Software COE

Create, implement, and maintain software configuration management plans for multi-site project teams

Review and correct /or improve build and release procedures to ensure software integrity and reduce execution time

Drive continuous improvement on software quality and team productivity through trend reporting analysis and metrics management

Investigate, identify, recommend, procure, implement, configure and maintain software development and test tools

Guide team to perform standard and exceptional software releases per documented processes and best practices.

Operate as the operational reliability champion for our support teams so they have the right information to quickly solve field issues or application faults

Collaborate with remote teams and drive selected work activities with offshore groups

Communicate status regularly to peer and senior management teams

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned

Designs, develops, tests, debugs and implements operating systems components, software tools and utilities.

Determines systems software design requirements.

Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency.

Generates systems software engineering policies, standards and procedures.

**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelors degree with 7+ years of experience or 5+ years of experience with a masters degree. Degree must be in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field.

Nice to Have

+ Experience on a variety of DevOps toolsets (IAR, Surround, GIT, Integrity PLM, etc)

+ Strong knowledge of configuration management industry standards and best practices

+ Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

+ Experience in specifying and implementing DevOps solutions with IT to support distributed software teams

+ Significant experience and success in development of scripts and applications to facilitate automation of software builds and releases

+ Expert knowledge of the underlying concepts of Branching, Merging, and Archiving software throughout the development lifecycle

+ In depth knowledge of software configuration management processes and practices. Applies knowledge of the software development environment (from end user perspective) to ensure usability of SCM processes

+ Experience creating application specific documentation and ensure dependencies and compatibilities through appropriate verification

+ Solution orientated, generates multiple innovative solutions to complex or critical
