Job Description

Tunista Services is seeking a Plant Operations Supervisor.This position iscontingent upon award of contract.

The Plant Operations Supervisor is accountable for all HVAC plant operations, production, and performance through planning, coordinating, and evaluating the activities of the plants and subordinate employees. The Plant Operations Supervisor shall provide operational control of the heating and cooling plants in accordance with State, Federal, and military regulations to provide the required degree of service as specified herein. The Plant Operations Supervisor is accountable to meet utility production quality and safety standards throughout Fort Gordon Facilities as well as delivering on key performance indicators.

Develops and manages HVAC production schedules to meet internal volume, cost and quality goals.
Analyzes utility production metrics and makes recommendations for improvements and solutions to issues that are identified.
Ensures safe operations and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs.
Ensures that project milestones and goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
Execute on master planning, scheduling, resource planning and leading improvement projects aligned towards site goals and objectives
Resolve HVAC production problems and implement solutions in an effective and timely manner
Ensure appropriate employee management, including controlling of staffing, scheduling, employee development and performance management
Implement and manage continuous improvement initiatives and activities
Implement and analyze HVAC plant performance metrics through reports including direct labor efficiency, productivity, absenteeism, inventory and backlog
Sets expectations, provides recourses, audits performance, counsels employees, trains, and sets policies and practices to exceed department goals
Leads team to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual performance goals
Ensure operations metrics are well known; tracks daily progress towards achieving objectives and mitigating risks
Assist with managing of daily project reporting including: timekeeping; environmental and permit compliance; daily reports
Implements company policies such as attendance, overtime, safety, environmental, etc., and directs the application of such policies to the product group's operation
Maintains effective communication with government leadership, customers, and project participants
Perform other duties as assigned

This position requires supervision of subordinate workforce

Job Requirements

Ability to provide effective leadership over subordinate workforce
Ability to professionally and effectively communicate with employees, business partners, and clients via written and verbal communication methods
Ability to handle stressful situations and effectively plan and organize duties to meet deadlines.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to work with concentration, accuracy, and attention to detail
Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings, including host preparation meetings.
Ability to work a flexible schedule
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Ability to interpret and communicate project plans and drawings
Adequate knowledge of database software, spreadsheet software, scheduling software, job costing software and word processing software
Ability to pass a drug, driving, and background screening

High School diploma
10 years experience in a high pressure steam or pressurized high-temperature water generating plant as a stationary operating engineer and shall have a minimum of 2 years experience as a plant supervisor or plant foreman
Currently certified per AR 420-1, Section 238, Utility plant operators
Ability to pass a drug, driving and background screening
