Job Summary:

Disney Consumer Products Commercialization (CPC) is the business segment of The Walt Disney Company that extends the Disney brand to merchandise ranging from apparel, toys, home décor and books to interactive games, food and beverages, stationery, electronics and animation art.

The Disney Media, Classics and Entertainment team is responsible for licensing characters and stories created by Disney Channel, Disney XD, Disney Junior, ABC and Disney Interactive as well as Classic properties such as Mickey and Minnie Mouse. In addition and liaising with the Walt Disney Company divisions, our retailer and licensing partners, it is responsible for building marketing programs in order to grow licensed product sales and build Disney properties and brands.

The Assistant Manager is responsible for managing several sub-categories and the associated licensee base with the goal of meeting or exceeding predetermined revenue targets and growth objectives across the Disney Junior, Disney Baby and Classics portfolio of brands.


  • Manages a category, licensee or retailer for a specific segment of the business.
  • Performs day-to-day responsibilities including licensee management and licensee communication.
  • Works with licensees to develop business plans by retailer, brand and property (including line plans).
  • Manages license agreements including amendments and renewals.
  • Manages relationships with multiple licensees, retailers and internal marketing and product development groups.
  • Works with Licensees and Disney Creative teams to develop product that meets retailer needs while maintaining quality and character integrity standards.
  • Responsible for licensee product and marketing submission review and approval (including product sample processes).
  • Performs budgeting and forecasting responsibilities for assigned licensees.
  • Identifies competitive research and market analysis needs and conducts on-site store visits.
  • Implements/coordinates cross-category and divisional promotions.
  • Manage the planning and execution of license meetings, internal coordination meetings, etc.
  • Identifies new business and revenue opportunities. Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Manages multiple categories, licensees or retailers.
SUPERVISION (given/received)
  • Receives general guidance from Manager or higher level supervisor.
  • Interacts with category teams, product development /creative, franchise / marketing, legal, product integrity, CBM, product safety, integrated retail, and licensees.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Good understanding of brand and property positioning, retail business development function, retail distribution and the retail environment
  • Analytical/Strategic Thinker

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree + 3-4 years related experience or MBA with 1-2 years experience
