Job Description

Tunista Services is seeking a Pest Control Supervisor. This position is contingent upon award of contract.

The Pest Control Supervisor is responsible for the planning, supervision and performance in the identification, control and extermination of invertebrate and vertebrate pests at Fort Gordon. The Pest Control Supervisor oversees the inspection of buildings and structures for pest contamination, trains and supervises assigned personnel in pest control procedures and treatments; and performs related work as assigned.

Inspects all Fort Gordon facilities to determine the presence of pests (vertebrate and invertebrate) and determine the sequence of treatment necessary
Exterminate pests such as ants, roaches, spiders, beetles, fleas, fungus and termites; trap animals such as rats, mice and gophers; remove live and dead animals such as cats, dogs and skunks from
attics, walls, and sub areas of Fort Gordon buildings and structures
Train, and supervise assigned personnel in methods of pest eradication and destruction; evaluate the quantity and quality of the work performed.
Prepare specifications for pest control work to be performed by subordinate staff; evaluate the work and report discrepancies to superiors.
Estimate time, materials and personnel needed for pest treatment at a site; confer with administrators and other personnel to schedule optimum time for pesticide treatment.
Make minor building repairs and request major repairs be made to prevent or control infestation by pests.
Post notices and tag doors and entrances to buildings to prevent entry by students, the public and employees
Order and maintain materials and supplies
Operate power spray equipment to apply chemical treatments at sites
Maintain records of inspections and treatments
Work closely and cooperate with personnel from other agencies having inspection and enforcement authority over pest control equipment and chemicals (e. g. federal and state Environmental Protection Agencies and Richmond County Health Department)
Test and evaluate new chemicals, methods and equipment and recommend those best suited to Fort Gordon requirements and mandated by law
Make presentations at meetings to Fort Gordon government personnel to advise them on the purpose, hazards and safety of pesticide treatments
Manage contract budget for pesticide supplies
Prepare work schedules for subordinate personnel
Assist with management of daily project reporting including timekeeping, environmental and permit compliance and daily reports on pesticide operations
Maintain effective communication with government leadership, customers and project participants
Implements company policies such as attendance, overtime, safety, environmental, etc. and directs the application of such policies for subordinate workforce
Perform other duties as assigned

This position requires supervision of subordinate workforce

Job Requirements

Ability to provide effective leadership over subordinate workforce
Ability to professionally and effectively communicate with employees, project participants, and clients via written and verbal communication methods
Ability to handle stressful situations and effectively plan and organize duties to meet deadlines
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to work with concentration, accuracy, and attention to detail
Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings, including host preparation meetings
Ability to work a flexible schedule
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, environmental compliance and procedures
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Ability to pass a drug, driving, and background screening

High School diploma
Eight years of documented experience as a certified pest control applicator
Licensed IAW State of Georgia Department of Agriculture Georgia Pesticide Use and Application Act of 1976, as a certified commercial applicator
Ability to pass a drug, driving and background screening
