Allina Health is recruiting a President for the Minnesota Perinatal Physicians practice. MPP is a large maternal fetal medicine practice with a focus on subspecialty MFM including complex maternal care, maternal critical care and fetal care and overall leadership of the practice in partnership with administrative leadership.
Responsibilities:
  • Promote and be jointly accountable for all domains of quality – safety, effectiveness, efficiency (i.e., operational and financial), timeliness, patient-centeredness, and equity – in their practice.
  • Within that dyad, the President provides overall medical administrative oversight
  • Achieves results in accordance with health system and group-directed policies
  • Partners in the development of organizational goals and objectives and approves strategic plans for implementation
  • Provides overall oversight of and coordinates efforts with other leaders who manage clinical, financial and operational aspects of maternal fetal medicine services
  • Provides organizational leadership representing maternal fetal medicine

Clinical work:
  • Provides direct patient care for clinical patients for designated specialty
  • Functions appropriately as part of care delivery team through efficient use of resources and skills, both their own and those of other provider and staff
  • Chart in electronic format in accordance with licensure and scope
  • Actively participates in multidisciplinary team approach to case management
  • Quality improvement utilizes quality improvement tools to develop processes that promote continuous improvement in delivery of patient care, patient outcomes or workflows

Education

  • Graduate of accredited medical school, residency, and fellowship programs as a Maternal Fetal Medicine physician
  • This position requires a Medical Doctorate degree (M.D.), Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) or foreign equivalent from an approved school of medicine
  • Board Certified Perinatologist in good standing
  • Master’s degree or certificate in healthcare business administration or related field (preferred)

Qualification/Skills

Skills
  • Sub-specialty maternal fetal medicine experience preferred with specialized complex maternal medicine and surgical care, critical care, fetal, genetic, or other skills sets
  • Demonstrated leadership experience (three or more years preferred) in multi-physician clinic or integrated health system environment required
  • Demonstrated successful track record of working effectively with physicians and clinical staff, new business development, revenue growth, and margin management
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse professional, educational, and lifestyle backgrounds both orally and in writing
  • Must possess interpersonal skills associated with an executive including but not limited to integrity, commitment, big picture and critical thinking, political awareness, and sensitivity.
  • Requires organizational and self-motivational skills in prioritizing and managing multiple tasks.
  • Must demonstrate ability to utilize effective decision-making, problem solving and conflict resolution techniques
  • Requires public speaking and group process facilitation skills
  • Displays professionalism in stressful situations and focused amid constant interruptions in a highly competitive environment
  • Expert clinician with a patient-centric philosophy of care – able to advance patient and provider/staff experience initiatives to drive optimal outcomes


Experience

  • Five or more years of clinical maternal fetal medicine work experience

Licensure/Certification

  • Must have current, unrestricted Minnesota State Medical Licensure
  • Must be board certified or be eligible for board certification within designated specialty

Work Schedule

  • The MPP President role is a combination of leadership and clinical work
  • Call coverage is required on a rotation with the group
