Thepurpose
of this position is to create life-long, loyal patients for CRHF by providing
excellent service directly to patients. You will have daily interactions with current
and prospective pacemaker and defibrillator patients regarding device function
and warranty questions. These interactions occur mostly via telephone, but may
also include email, text, chat, mail, fax, and in-person. Follow-up communications
and/or research is often necessary to effectively assist patient and Medtronic
field personnel.


Questions are also answered
for health care professionals (HCP) regarding device function and
compatibility, in support of patients with implanted devices.


**A Day in the Life**


Provide direct, expert support as a Patient
Services Specialist for patient and HCP inquiries.


+ Assessneed, gather, and accurately analyze all pertinent information.

+ Preparean accurate, understandable layperson communication.

+ Deliverresponse in a respectful manner consistent with Medtronic brand voice,demonstrating empathy, education, and empowerment


+ When applicable,provide prospective patients with Medtronic product or service information.

+ Consult onpatient questions regarding URM (unreimbursed medical expenses) and warrantyclaims.

+ Successfullymanage conversations with emotional patients.


+ Documentinteractions per regulation, policy, and department process.

+ Awareof regulations including, but not limited to: device tracking, complainthandling, and quality systems.


+ Aware of HIPAA andprivacy laws, Medicare policies and insurance guidelines.


+ Maintainknowledge regarding CRHF past, present, and future products and services.

+ Providefirst-line response to Field Actions, Recalls, and Safety Alerts.


+ Enable URM programadministration by knowing requirements, timeline, and communicate topatients, field representatives, and customers.

+ Activelyparticipate in process improvement.

+ This roleoccasionally requires coverage for some Medtronic holidays. The hours are9-6PM M-F

**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**


+ Bachelors degree required

+ 0 years of experience required


**Nice to Have**


+ Strongcommunication skills--interpersonal, verbal, and written.

+ Basicmulti-tasking skills with proven results.

+ Basic criticalthinking/judgment and effective problem resolution.

+ Proficient withcomputers and common Microsoft applications.

+ Team player

+ BA or BS degree incommunications, business administration, nursing, psychology, or relatedscience or medical field.

+ 0-1 years oftelephone customer service environment.

+ Abilityto understand basic device design information, function, electromagneticinterference effects, medical applications, generally accepted therapy, andspecific Medtronic warranty processes.

+ Basic humananatomy, physiology, and medical knowledge.

+ Basic knowledge ofmedical device industry and specifically, cardiac arrhythmia managementconcepts, technology, and therapies.

+ Negotiation and/or mediation training.


+ Extended periods oftime doing computer-based and telephone work in an office environment.
