Patient Care Assistant or Nurse Tech - Menomonie (Limited tenure)
This is a unique opportunity to be part of the Mayo team. This position will support our nursing departments and may assist with patients in our inpatient settings, infusion clinic, immunization clinics, 1:1 care, and various other roles that will meet the needs of the patients.
Nursing students preferred. We offer flexibility with scheduling. Floating regionally may be required.
The nurse technician performs delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse(RN). The designated tasks are those which have been taught in the academic programs and/or orientation, and where the individual has demonstrated competence to a designated RN. The functions are those limited by law to unlicensed personnel.
Patient Care Assistant:
18 years old and completion of 12 college credits or High school Diploma/GED with successful completion of a Nursing Assistant training or equivalent.
Nurse Tech:
Successful completion of junior year of baccalaureate nursing program or successful completion of 3 semesters of associate nursing program. Successful experience in clinical areas as described in instructor references to perform the functions which are within this job description.
Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Provides from one of the following programs; American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Patient Care Assistant only: If a candidate does not currently have their Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross the Basic Life Support, certification will be included as part of the orientation program.
This is a limited tenure position, with an anticipated end date of December 2021. End date subject to change.
