Seeking an undergraduate intern to support Intel's community outreach programs in Oregon. Responsibilities include interacting with internal groups and external community-based organizations to drive employee volunteer engagement. Candidate will report to the Oregon Community Engagement Manager in the Public Affairs and Sustainability group. With 20,000 employees, Intel's operations in Oregon are Intel's largest concentration of facilities and talent in the world. Intel has long been committed to applying technology and the talents of our employees to broaden access to opportunity and be an asset to our community. Each year our employees and retirees generously donate their time; in 2018, more than 10,000 employees and retirees volunteered approximately 355,000 hours in the community.

Responsibilities:

  • Help business groups, employee resource groups, and Intel Involved ambassadors identify, plan, and execute volunteer opportunities to support local schools and nonprofit organizations
  • Support the coordination and planning of strategic community programs, partnerships, and events. Tasks can include booking rooms, ordering catering, purchasing supplies, and managing security and room setup
  • Support volunteer program administration through tasks that include researching new volunteer opportunities, posting volunteer opportunities to the online portal, recruiting volunteers for events, and reporting employee volunteer hours
  • Coordinate distribution of Intel Involved t-shirts, student giveaways, and event materials
  • Manage the Intel Involved email inbox and respond to employee inquiries
  • Assist with creating internal communications to increase program visibility and storytelling through various platforms including newsletters, blogs, and digital

This is a part-time internship (averaging 20 hours per week) desired for 9 months. Candidate may be needed for occasional weekend or evening event support.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidates must be pursuing a BS or BA in Public Relations, Communications, Business Management or a related field of study.
  • This U.S. position is open to U.S. Workers Only. A U.S. Worker is someone who is either a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident, or a person granted Refugee or Asylum status by the U.S. Government. Intel will not sponsor a foreign national for this position.

Prefer Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Event planning experience
  • Capacity to work under tight deadlines and within flexible hours as necessary
  • Understanding and interest in Corporate Social Responsibility
