Operations Senior Business Analyst

The Project Sr Analyst is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.


+ Conduct reviews of the relevant applications and processes with Stakeholders.

+ Gather, analyze and document business requirements: questioning, challenging and proposing innovative, automated solutions where necessary.

+ Assess the impact of proposed changes to the current processes to ensure no additional Manual Touchpoints are introduced.

+ Assess the impact of the proposed solution against the Target Operating Model and relevant scoring.

+ Ensure correct supporting artefacts are produced for each project including the BRDs, Testing scenarios, deployment plans etc. in line with the ICG O&T project standards.

+ Build and maintain relationships with keys stakeholders. Communicating progress of the project(s) to relevant parties including, but not limited to Senior Sponsors, Business Sponsors, Steering Committees and Program Management Office as appropriate.

+ Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.

+ Support training activities for the impacted groups. Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.


+ 5-8 years relevant experience


+ Bachelors/University degree or equivalent experience


+ Detailed understanding of SWIFT messaging for MT1,2 and 9 series (High)

+ Knowledge of APAC Domestic Clearing (e.g. MEPS, BAHTNET) flows and Cross-border flows (High)

+ Well versed with ISO 20022 message structures and its relation to corresponding MT messages (Med/High)

+ Detailed understating of Payment messaging and end-to-end flows from Client initiation to Clearing and settlement (Med/High)

+ Understanding of Payment processing including Investigations, Servicing and Exception processing (Med/High)

+ Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to lead discussions in meetings/conference calls (Med/High)

+ Experience in Business Analysis/Functional Requirements in medium to large scale programs. (Med)

+ Experience in managing large technical and/or process related projects (Med)

+ Industry knowledge of payments and its changing landscape (Low/Med)

+ Understanding of Agile methodology and tools like Jira, Confluence (Low/Med) Stakeholder management (Low/Med)

+ Knowledge of the software development life Cycle(Low/Med)


+ Strong Analytical skills

+ Ability to work on own initiative

+ Ability to work in a pressured environment

+ Excellent organization and administrative skills

+ A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

+ Flexibility Clear communicator ability to relay precise information both orally and in writing to senior management

+ Good time management skills

+ Ability to articulate ideas in a simple coherent way Strong influencing and negotiation skills; ability to build and maintain effective networks and relationships.

+ Proven team-working skills.
