Modelling Software Engineer Intern

Join Intel's Barefoot Networks business unit and work alongside world-class experts to help shape and build the next generation of P4-programmable Ethernet switches.

This role will give you the opportunity to work across the range of our network switch architecture activities: the use of software modelling to validate hardware design, the provision of test environments to allow rapid development of switch control-plane software, and tools to enable customer testing of custom P4 switching applications.

It's not all work, the UK site is in the centre of historic Bath with its landmarks, great green spaces and cracking pubs and bars.

Qualifications

This is a 13 month fixed-term placement suitable for students currently studying a degree course in computer science, electrical and electronic engineering or other relevant degrees, and is targeted at 2nd year students enrolled in a 4 years bachelor's degree which includes a year in industry.

Computer programming skills are essential.

The modelling team members have a diverse set of skills. If you have an interest and good grades in some of the following University modules you are likely to be a suitable candidate for the role; Networking, Computer Architecture, Computer Systems, Programming (C, C++, Python) or Mathematics. The modules you have taken will depend on your chosen degree, but whatever your skills you will be willing to take initiative, and show dedication for your assigned work.
