Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an opening for a Systems Engineering Manager 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Space Park, Redondo Beach, California.

The Manager will:

Provide leadership and oversight for a multi-disciplined systems engineering team that is responsible for:
o Driving Payload hardware electrical and mechanical interface definition via ICDs and EQ Specifications
o Overseeing execution of payload interface compatibility analysis, risk reduction validation, and verification activities to ensure high-confidence Payload interface compatibility and function
o Collaborating with Spacecraft, Specialty Engineering, and Hardware RDE/RSE POCs to allocate and verify Payload "Integration" requirements such as physical environments, EMI/EMC, Radiation, etc.
o Participating in Space Vehicle and Payload hardware design definition, working groups, and trades
o Managing Payload Configuration documentation such as block diagrams, key resource allocations, Payload Unit Placement documents, etc.
o Coordinating with ATL I&T organization for planning and execution of Payload Integration and Test activities
o Providing Payload test definition, real-time Payload test data trending, and leadership to Payload troubleshooting activities including Anomaly and Failure Resolution Boards
o Managing process definition, planning, execution, and external communications for Payload verification and operational database production developments
Build and drive a culture of adherence to System Engineering process rigor into the requirements development and analysis process
Develop talent and build strong system engineering teams. Support hiring and career development.
Lead change resulting in product improvement, efficiency, and increased forecast accuracy
Solve complex technical problems across a variety of communications hardware
Serve as a CAM for a large program area. Plan and execute the activity in support of that program on time (cost and schedule) using Earned Value Management process
Lead and support growth and new business initiatives as POC with responsibility for feasibility, costing and schedule insertion of growth initiatives generated by the Program Office
Develop and sustain communication plans with Program, team, customer, functional stakeholders

There will be regular status reports with program management and the customer, as well as support to all major program milestones.

**Qualifications:**

**Basic Qualifications:**

- Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline with 7+ years of systems engineering experience OR
- Master's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline with 5+ years of systems engineering experience

- Active SCI access AND DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance required

- Prior management or team lead experience

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- Prior experience in functional management

- MSEE with emphasis in Communication Systems or Signal Processing

- 10+ years of experience in Systems Engineering

- Prior CAM and/or EVMS experience
